Automation killed rural America and it's quickly coming for cities. I'm sucking it up in blue tech hubs for now and making money at a job while I still have a job.

Buddies of mine with masters degrees in electrical engineering were starting at the only tech place in town for $80K. Maybe if they stay on for 20 years and house prices don't move an inch in the meantime, they'll be able to own. Or maybe if they find a girl with a masters in EE...
Boise ain't fukking blue though. It's being flooded with buckets of Californians, but they're all Republicans.

If you move to a red state, it should purely be to live a rural or smaller town/city lifestyle. There is no Major city in America that is some conservative uptopia.
Why don't people see this? "But but but The jobs!" If your job means you have to work in a city to afford your lifestyle, then you have to go to a liberal hell hole.
Otherwise learn a trade, learn to farm, learn to be more self sufficient, have a job that is remote, or start a small business.
Now is the dividing line. Major city life or more suburban/rural life. Less pay but lower COL. More freedom. Less jobs but more fulfilling life.

Pretty much every right winger wants to turn the clock back on America 20 to 50 years and live in the kind of rural-suburban area that used to exist. Those areas are exactly what's exploding.
This is Temecula, CA in 1985 vs 2020.

People who lived in A watched it turn into B and don't like it, so now they are looking for areas that look exactly like A.

I can buy 11.5 acres in sandpoint Idaho right now near schweizer mountain for 180k. It is full of timber I can lease the land and probably make 15 grand to level it for a logging company. I can build a cabin on their myself and start a homestead.
But people are so fukking stupid they'll pay 400k for an oversized house near a city to live in exactly what they were "moving away from"

We should start a movement for conservative/moderate brahs to take over California and make it great again. Start in San Diego and work our way up.

Anyone thinking about Idaho is going, "Well Colorado is already too far gone, let me get in on the next thing..." without realizing that time has longgg passed for Idaho too.
Montana/Wyoming are where you are still kind of getting in early.

If you are into healthcare (doctors, nurses, NP, Nurse anesthesiologist etc.) that's fine, because small town America needs healthcare workers(esp now, with vaccinations/covid, opioid epidemic hitting rural America badly, aging population in those regions etc.) , but not if you are into most other fields, like finance/accounting or Engineering.

From what I can gather, being that it's right behind Disney World, it seems to be relatively quite and less traveled by tourists.

Just depends on what your skills are and what you want to get from the state. Why focus so much on politics?

West Virginia is beautiful.
Charleston is not.
NY is beautiful.
NYC is not.
Basically any democratic inner city is a crap
Filled crime ridden homeless man stank of a mess.
But the suburbs of said mess might be Decent, this applies to Almost every state.

There are much less opportunities in small town America and less job prospects than in the cities.
Most normal young people (besides miscers of course) tend to leave small town America for larger cities. I grew up in Lubbock TX. and almost everyone wanted to move out, and the ones that could (college educated professionals) did. I moved to Dallas. Don't be so obsessed with politics that you lose out on job opportunities only available in cities.
