Yup, the cars are rated at 341 at the flywheel at 18psi. The wheels are only like 5% bigger than a standard STI turbo , they basically did some ECU revisions and turned the boost up a few lbs. The 209s bone stock are dynoing like 300ish to the wheels.

On those small turbos turning the boost up even more only creates air reversion and heats the incoming air more due to being pushed past their efficiency level.

With those small compressor housings I wouldn't push the psi much more than it sits and instead focus on things to increase the efficiency of the intake/exhaust and lowering the AITs. Get rid of the heat soaking top mount etc etc

Maybe I missed this or forgot, but are you seam sealing to keep it from flexing like a rubber band? Cross braces?

Depending on how long the Standalone I plan on using is backordered and the guy building my harness takes I would like to be ready for the SR20 west coast convention this August.

Have you ever messed around with endurance stuff? I did pit crew a couple times for an amateur team and it was fun as hell. Of course, you will break stuff.

I did work on a sprint car team for a bit which was a blast. Did crew for my old shops drag car and drift car.

It's fun to do once in a while but not all the time in my experience.

It’s up only 2.5psi I asked for a conservative tune to not sacrifice reliability but I know anything higher it is increased %. But I’ve seen people run 21.5 on their stock STI turbos n made it past 100k without issues so I’m hoping it being a bigger turbo n newer it’ll handle the slight Increase to 100k+

I do plan to get a bigger turbo n engine and so a build soon tho already discussed with my shop.

I just purchased carbon fiber driveshaft, 2 piece rotor that was custom made from a reputable source and lightweight battery, 12.5 pounds weight loss from DS alone

Then 25ish engine bay drop + the 25 pounds from 2 piece rotors.

I’m hoping I’ll feel a good difference in driving + handling

Also got Air oil separator, as well as got a hood and doing carbon fiber inserts to help vent out the top, they’re about 12 inches in length + more ventilation, a lot better then the typical aftermarket carbon fiber pre done hoods.

My tuner and guy who taught MIT who’s been building Subaru’s since 2002 said I won’t need a FMIC till 500 wheel+ HP which I’m not where near to worry about anything?

Also I already did fill exhaust except for headers and cat deletes

I wouldn't trust your "MIT guy" if he says you don't need a FMIC until 500hp. There are no drawbacks to a far more efficient setup.

Your stock intercooler is
1. Not big enough to support that power
2. Is heat soaked like a mother fuker being placed over the engine.
3. Proper FMICs from reputable companies like precision, Garrett, Vibrant, Speedfactory etc are far more efficient and drop IATs far far more than a TMIC ever could. I literally picked up 20hp before just from swapping from a janky chinese intercooler to a moneymoggin Garrett.

I will admit some of the AN fittings are chinamaxxin. Frankly it's because I need so many and I haven't noticed a difference between a 50 dollar Russell/aeroquip fitting and a 10 dollar Summit/ebay fitting lol.

Which do you think is a better engine for your subaru, a gallo 12 or a gallo 24?

You think I’ll gain a significant difference going FMIC? I’d have to go different hood too. I plan to do a different engine/turbo too and building. Hmm now got me thinking back to the drawing board again.

You could keep the stock hood, it still has a functional scoop to draw in cool air.

As far as difference on a stock turbo, not too much but you will be able to upgrade down the road

Not much updates, only got a couple hours in today to work on stuff but got enough done I won't complain. Got the oil cooler mounted up nicely and also got the thermostat/filter housing bracket mocked up.

Ordered a carbon fiber driveshaft 13 pounds off rotating mass. I held off on 2 piece rotors, don’t think I’ll get much performance from them. Oh n lightweight battery, 25 pound shed in front. And air oil separator. Opinion on those? Your engine is looking badass btw

Dropping 5 lbs per corner of rotating mass can be equivalent of dropping 60lbs of static weight or possibly more depending from how far out the hub the weight is taken.

I have 2 piece Z1motorsports rotors but they will be for trackdays only considering their 500 dollar price tag just for 2.
