505 deadlift for reps

Felt super light. Was shooting for 10 but plates jerked me forward during the 5th and threw me off. Don't be cheap and buy hex plates ever. They always fuk me up.

Yeah I've worked my ass off trying to fix that. Best pull is 615, but I know the hips are what's keeping me from pulling some really big boy weight.

I feel you. I'm not stranger to back pain. I've had several epidurals due to bulging disc that rendered me almost immobile. Still constantly have to fight through really painiful back tweaks, but nothing major in over a year now.

I hear ya. But it’s just fun trying to get stronger. Little brother and a lot of friends are doing dat dere, so I’m a little obsessed with trying to keep up strength wise without going that route. My injuries are far lower at this point than they used to be, and I think it’s because I lift smarter and am much more in tune with my body. The bulging disc was due to bad form, but MRI showed my spine was otherwise in pristine shape. Just needed the epidural shot to kill the inflammation pushing on the disc. It’s been a few years now. The tweaks are just a fact of life that I’ve learned to just deal with since a kid. All cope aside, I may very well wish I heeded advice like yours when I’m older and broken.

545 lbs for 8, not bad strength, was expecting some sh*tty new Instagram lifter with their catastrophic apocalyptic form, where the lift goes straight to the joints, ligaments and bones instead of the muscles since they are so weak.
For example low bar good morning pigeon squatters , clown sumo deadlift and etc
repped

edit , you should deadlift without shoes it would help alot, not only will it add 30-50 pounds to your dead , it will also help with your feet to stay horizontally flat and not curve in or out

Thanks, man. I was doing super close stance with feet parallel up until about a year ago, but because of my long ass legs, I was having to arch my back a lot, and I kept getting injured. This wide stance with toes pointed out has been yielding the best results even though it still feels a bit unnatural. I'm wearing Barefoot deadlift shoes, so I'm pretty close to the floor.

Honestly it's not great. 455 is where I can hit depth. I've been hitting them hard week in week out for years and can't seem to improve much. I really feel like I need in person coaching to figure out the best stance and form for my proportions.

Solid reps breh. Good stuff

I'm not a fan of kissing the ground though. When I used to deadlift that way I lost a little strength off the ground on the first rep over time(look @ how much slower the 1st rep is). You are using a little bit of the rebound effect on your consecutive reps, similar to touch n go bench vs pause when you stay under full tension like that. It may be beneficial to stay tight and tense but let the weight rest on the ground for a sec between reps if your goal is a high 1RM. Your form will also be a little cleaner.

Stop doing touch n go deadlifts and start resetting between reps. TnG deadlifts are horrible for your spine

I definitely hear you guys. Dead stop, resetting is the way to do it. I attempted it too, but the fukking hex plates were killing me because of how much they shift when setting the weight down. So I've just been telling myself I'll do touch n go until I replace them -- which looks to be in the next month.
