oooooo more spooky language! Look. I really have nothing against religion. I've come to a point where I can take it in a light hearted manner and be fine with it. So I'm not just some religion hating atheist over here telling you this.

With that in mind, trust me when I tell you, that talking that way to people who don't agree with your religious beliefs never helps anything. Religious people way too often resort to two styles of arguement: 1 - The whole "Jesus loves you"/"I'll pray for you" type stuff, which is actually just backhanded disrespect dressed up as being nice. 2 - The "You'll go to hell"/"you'll meet your maker"/etc., which are just threats via spooky language. Understand that saying crap like that never convinces anyone of your religious beliefs/arguments. In fact, it just pushes them even further away. It's not very... ya know... Christ-like. I'm pretty sure Jesus would like you to be a bit more respectful towards people than that.

Generally speaking, Psalms & Proverbs in the O.T. are great for general life advice and learning about God's qualities.
John in the N.T. is a great place to start, as it gives the good news while showing Jesus as a friend to those he is trying to save. If you read it with that lens, it's pretty awesome.
Revelation if you want end times prophecy, but it helps to have a study guide with it, as there are alot of references to countries and events that are easy to miss.

The part where Christ is nailed to the cross and he sees the crowd that are spiting him and the Roman soldiers casting lots for his robe, he says: 'forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing'.

To have this level of valor to go through the extremities of torture, betrayal and ultimately death for being righteous, whilst being able to see it coming far before it actually happened and still being able to 'forgive' the people for it, realizing they are just unaware and uneducated about the unadulterated truth is ultimately what Christianity represents.

There's no mention of him outside of religiously related documents.

There is some mention about a "Jesus" in legal trouble, but his name was like "Kevin" today. So, that's vague.
