I used to be mostly fine with heights (even rock climbed for years) but a few years ago, seemingly out of nowhere, I started getting tingles and weak legs anytime I'm around heights. Even watching vids or seeing pictures of people on ledges or high up will freak me out (weak legs, body tingles, stomach turns, etc). Buddy has a place on the 25th floor and I don't even like going on his balcony.

I spent a few years drinking heavily and I think it might have fcked up my ability to deal with heights, srs.
got over it by being thrown in the deep end, it took some time of facing it head on to get comfortable, now I can climb thousands of feet and love it

whats the oldest guy you have climbed with that is still doing it? what age do people generally quit climbing and what do they do then, diff career or stay and do the management stuff?
they usually move into construction / project management when they can't climb, I've climb with guys in their 60s. I'll climb as long as my body is able then i'll go for project management

We should be demanding more tbh, there aren’t many of us. The industry can’t meet demand for employees. I couldn’t get fired if I tried with my skill set.

That being said the more you know and can do the more you’ll get paid, there’s also no shortage of overtime

I could pretty much go work anywhere in the world and be hired in an instant

Vancouver was where I wanted to be and working in the mountains so that’s where I am now
