lol @ acting like people don't know that DHT is extremely important during puberty and early adulthood. I wouldn't recommend anyone under 25 take fin tbh, but people do, and they're mostly fine.

DHT actually gives you that "alpha" feeling/mood, srs. When I have elevated DHT levels I care way less about my balding funnily enough. Hormone of the gods if your follicles are not sensitive.

Dht has been proven to be a very weak anabolic agent. If you have bad hair genetics you have to minimize dht to prevent hair loss. Or lose hair.

OP makes a good point that DHT is the driver of strength. DHT coupled with the epidermal growth factor receptor. This can cause strength increases in as little as 30 minutes, whereas androgen receptor changes take days. DHT + EGF-R makes fast twitch fibers. Testosterone appears to make slow twitch and not actually increase force. But I'd guess the shear addition of a lot of slow switch fibers accounts for people gaining strength with lots of testosterone (in addition to DHT gains)

It is generally believed that steroid hormones have both genomic and non‐genomic (rapid) actions. Although the latter form an important component of the physiological response of these hormones, little is known about the cellular signalling pathway(s) mediating these effects and their physiological functions in adult mammalian skeletal muscle fibres. Therefore, the primary aim of this study was to investigate the non‐genomic actions of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and their physiological role in isolated intact mammalian skeletal muscle fibre bundles. Our results show that treating the fibre bundles with physiological concentrations of DHT increases both twitch and tetanic contractions in fast twitch fibres. However, it decreases them in slow twitch fibres. These changes in force are accompanied by an increase in the phosphorylation of MAPK/ERK1/2 in both fibre types and that of regulatory myosin light chains in fast twitch fibres. Both effects were insensitive to inhibitors of Src kinase, androgen receptor, insulin‐like growth factor 1 receptor and platelet‐derived growth factor receptor. However, they were abolished by the MAPK/ERK1/2 kinase inhibitor PD98059 and the epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor inhibitor tyrphostin AG 1478. In contrast, testosterone had no effect on force and increased the phosphorylation of ERK1/2 in slow twitch fibres only. From these results we conclude that sex steroids have non‐genomic actions in isolated intact mammalian skeletal muscle fibres. Also something to consider is are we talking about serum DHT (ie reduced testosterone) or are we talking about testosterone that has been taken into the cell and reduced locally? Most DHT is local, which is why you get some people with "high DHT" but low balding. Science is having a hard time figuring out DHT because its happening in tissue specific areas and the regulation of 5-a-r isn't well known.
