Basically my rule is to be a good colleague, do my work as efficiently as I can and not back down from helping others with their tasks as long as I have the time to do so, but I don't go looking for extra work and sometimes I voluntarily overestimate my workload so that I have very chill deadlines. Also if anyone asks me something after 4:30, I'll say "sure let's discuss it tomorrow".

Perfectly happy in my cube(now mostly from home) doing engineering design work. I make 6 figs and the next step up is management and cooperate BS.

Im good where I am, took 10 years to get to this level and Ill stay right the F here for another 10 and retire. Just let me sit and do my work, leave me the F alone and give me money.

Interesting that this girl triggered this with you. I try to really practice happiness and gratefulness, it's so easy to dwell on the negative all the time. I think evolutionarily speaking it doesn't make sense to be content and to see the positive, we need to see the negative in order to eliminate potential threats before they threaten our lives, so basically we can feel pretty miserable even when most things are going great in our lives. It really takes efforts for some people to just relax and enjoy life in itself.

Yup - found a happy level of a decent salary and a workload I can complete in a few hours (if that) a day and still be a top performer.

I'd rather be stress free than chasing more money.

I don't know where I'm at in terms of spirituality but I think I do understand your path and I've read/heard some similar accounts. I'm always very sceptical about spiritual claims as a whole because I almost converted to Catholicism at some point, but after deep thinking about the topic I've concluded it is all bull****, so I'm very wary now. Though I do agree that we should try to see the positive and be happy for people in general (see sig). Although I'm always unsure where the boundary is between being nice and being soft. Trying to figure that out these days.

agreed, especially with working from home being the new standard

- brb between 2 and 3 hours of actual work to do per day on average
- brb great benefits and lots of time off
- brb lift weights during work breaks
- brb go buy groceries during the day to avoid busy times
- brb work in pjs
- brb finish my obligations (e.g. going to the bank, doing dishes, calling customer support or some chit like that) during work hours
- brb play video games with other cubecels during work hours
- brb all life obligations done by 4pm everyday and having the rest of the evening and every weekend to do watever the fuk i want/what i need to do

It's legit AF these days after 15 years in IT. Not going to say it's stress free with some of the idiots I have for coworkers but I have a 4 day work week, wear sweatpants/hoodies, the work is easy and I watch YT/Plex 80% of the day usually. Can't complain at all SRS

especially working from home, yeah I'm pretty happy with it lol.

- brb maybe a few hours of actual work, can misc and take care other house stuff in between
- save on commute time and gas money (I save maybe around $150/month on gas which is hyuge)
- I work 8-4, which leaves me 8 hours in the day plus weekends to do w/e the fuk i want
- Content with what I am getting paid atm
- however I only get 10 vacation days (will bump to 18 next year) and I am kinda limited as to when I can take it, once I get back though I get a rude awakening in terms of workload regardless

not sure why people complain about office jobs tbh. yeah it's mundane and repetitive sometimes but who cares as long as you get paid and isn't that stressful. if you have a life outside of it then it should be np.

Sleep in until 9

Make breakfast, answer emails, drink coffee, maybe do a small thing but dick around and misc until 11:30

Go to gym for hour and half

Come back, make lunch, get back to work at 2. Dick around , but maybe get some actual work done

Log out at 4:30, call it a day

On the same boat as the brahs doing little work from home. I used to be annoyed at how bad the whole promotions thing was (work for a big corporation and our area/division just gets very few promotions) but its compensated by how little I have to work generally.

Thing is its not always like that. I have a lot of colleagues who are buried in work and I've been in the same spot in the past (February, for example). On average I still get very few hours of work each day but you never know when this can change.

I spend most of my day miscing or playing rocket league while jiggling my mouse every so often to keep my computer active.
