Just like athletes. These are just regular people who are ultra athletic with a very particular skill. They aren't role models or anything like that - for the majority of htem, it's just a job.

Its a job that allows them to take other peoples lives. They have to be held to a different standard, the same way doctors or other highly specialized important jobs do.

When you are talking to someone who has a GUN, you should probably comply.

That's fair. But there should be give and take. You described the "take", but where is the "give" for the fact that cops literally risk their lives to do their job, whereas doctors don't. Should we pay cops more $$$?
