Back over the $750k in crypto mark.

Hit up my financial advisor gave them $20k to throw into coinbase IPO. We'll see how that goes tomorrow.

I went through a period where I felt quite smug.

Thankfully I've chilled out, and I'm just grateful now.

Breh wtf are you even talking about?

It's just as revolutionary as it was 10 years ago. Even moreso due to the Lindy effect and the exponential increase in hashing power / security.

Think I'm gonna throw a small stack at it. If it crashes buy more and hold with a 6-12 exit plan.

The 'elite' are backing Bitcoin publicly, not a good sign. A pro CIA ex-CIA director supporting Bitcoin shows it's not a threat. It's just digital gold, a store of a value. It's not a threat to the dollar because it can't be used a currency for daily transactions.

The solution for it to be used as affordable and fast currency, capable of being used for daily transactions is increasingly centralized. 10% of nodes control 80% of funds. All state actors and FIRE economy employees will have to do is to take over 10% of lightning network nodes to control the lightning network.

Here is the research paper...

https://arxiv.org/pdf/2002.02819.pdf

(I've seen the above presented to pro-lightning network people a number of times, and they never respond to it.)

The US government and the FATF are also pushing for KYC for wallets, and DEFI app users. The investment firms, Microstrategy, Telsa, etc will comply and definitely will not fight against regulation. The influential Michael Saylor is openly pro regulation and promotes that Bitcoin can't be considered a currency and shouldn't be...

It's just 'digital gold'. Physical gold is in no way a threat to the dollar, it currently exists quite comfortably alongside the dollar.

I've no doubt that Bitcoin will reach a mil per coin, but that doesn't make it subversive to the financial system, it just makes it a way of making and storing money.

You do realize before a currency becomes used as a currency it goes through a SoV phase right?

Says the random guy on a Norwegian competitive frisbee forum.

Lightning isn't the only solution, but it's currently something viable and operational.

You didn't address the scaling issues of Bitcoin, and the solution to scaling issue being increasingly centralized. 10% of the nodes on the lightning network control 80% of the funds.

All it can do right now is be a store of value, or a very slow and expensive currency. Which means it's not viable for the majority of the population (who live on less than $10 a day) and nor for daily purchases.
Lightning isn't the only solution, but it's currently something viable and operational.
What other solutions are even close being rolled out?

Not even the lightning network is ready for mass adoption yet.

Aside from the hack (just customer data, not crypto data) it's almost like you've got to find a good reason to buy a wallet like ****** or Ledger. You can buy an unlocked and/or burner smart phone for under a hundo and not only use it for your crypto on-ramping, but also put as many soft wallets as you want i.e. Exodus, Atomic, Coinbase Wallet (not to be confused with Coinbase App). These wallets have so much functionality, to me it's a no-brainer.

COIN stock will most certainly DUMP. Just LOL at 250 a share. You just know the CEO and all the higher ups are sitting there with millions of shares ready to unload and cash in. It will probably bring down all of crypto with it too.

I wish Coinbase never went public. Scam artists.
