Even Amazon’s selection is quite limited right now. Fortunately, I’m not in a rush and can wait a bit. Doing my research and seeing what’s out there, since it’s been 10+ years since I’ve had a desktop. Lot has changed.

The best 4K monitor for gaming is the LG 27GN950.
(Or the LG CX tvs if you have space for it)

Have had good experience with Dell in the past. Been using an ASUS laptop for the past 4 years and it’s been solid. Alienware? What about the ibuypower comps on Amazon. Seem to get good reviews.
Alienware is now owned by Dell so you'll get their support (which is quite good).

If you are gonna use it for office use aswell and you like smaller monitors I would recommend to pickup a 27" with 2K resolution. One of the best combination monitors is the LG 27GL83A-B/27GL850. These have Nano-IPS panel.

LOL wut?

Unless you are a multi-milliondollar business dell is the absolute chit tier of tech support.

If you know exactly what you are buying they are okay and can trouble shoot your own chit you are looking at a bad time.

(IF the price was right I would still go for it though.)

Boys i'm at a year running EK cryofuel navy blue. Any good idea on new coolant to use in the loop? I saw EK cryofuel mystic fog but read you need to switch it out after just 6 months.
Primochill vue seems to be alot of hassle to clean and also needs to be switched every 6 months..

The ultra saturated colors seem to do the worst and cause most problems.
For instance, take a look at the EK orange. Its a very saturated orange which causes the loop to fog up and it actually turns brown after 9months

I'm not trying to promote Thermaltake here but if you compare to their orange it's night and day. If you put them side by side you will see that the TT orange lacks the intensity but thats what you want. The consistency is more like pure water

General rule of thumb is that if you cant see through the liquid to the other side then it's probably going to cause issues and needs to be replaced often

I've had success with acid green/neon green colors. Avoid deep rich super saturated colors even though they tend to look better. It's not so much a brand issue as much as it is about the color richness that you choose

The replacement policies that they have on their monitors is top tier, atleast from my experience and from what I am reading on the ultrawidemasterrace subreddit.

Is it futile to even try to get a GTX 1070 somewhere?
why downgrade? you were messing with a 1080 back in 2016,
5 years latter you want to sang a 1070?
I would just try my luck with a new card. I know it will be hard but you will pay through the teeth either way old cards have seen huge price hikes due to shortages

So I made the dive into building my first mechanical keyboard. I figured since i'm a software developer and am on a PC 8+ hours a day I might as well try to get something more enjoyable to type on

Keyboard housing: GMMK Pro -https://www.pcgamingrace.com/product...ck-reservation
Switches: Alpaca Linears v2, re-lubed/filmed -https://www.primekb.com/products/alpaca-linears
Stabilizers: Zeal v2 stabs, re-lubed -https://zealpc.net/products/zealstabilizers
Keycaps: DROP + MATT3O MT3 SUSUWATARI -https://drop.com/buy/drop-matt3o-mt3...tom-keycap-set

also commissioned somebody to build me some custom resin keycaps, example in spoiler
Spoiler!

I'll post pics when all the parts deliver and i build it eventually. the keyboard housing won't deliver until like may/june so it'l be a while

It’s funny because despite spending like $400, mine is considered entry level. Those keyboard housings can cost up to 1k alone which is ludicrous. Mine for $170 I think is as good as it’s worth. Anything above that is just being stupid.

That's insane but tbh that sounds pretty awesome and you'll have a very unique keyboard.

I'm on my way to best buy to pick up a g pro wireless. I'm done with this pos corsair mouse, side buttons break every 6 months or so. Best buy warranty tho, I'm going to just return my corsair for the g pro and pay the difference.

Talking about monitors, I just returned a Samsung G5 34" 165Hz UW since it had coil whine and the stand was shet.
Rocking a lg 32gk650f-b 144hz atm on my second setup. It's weird not having a curved 32" since I am so used to my Dell S3220DGF and its curve.

I am considering trying one of the 27" 240Hz 2K Nano-IPS monitors that has come out recently, too bad the Alienware AW2721D is sold out everywhere.
How is 240 hz compared to 165? (And on that note, I can't really buy the Alienware 38" since I only play competitive shooters)

I get it Monday I'll let ya know. I'm hoping it just feels smoother for shooters and let's me put a few extra fps out.

I was thinking about getting a big dick monitor but I think I might buy one of these LG cx tvs everyone is raving about, and if I like it for games/pc I may just get a second for my living room. My tvs are OK but they are older 4k models.

Also I bought a big dick acer predator 100hz 34 ultra wide curved blah blah, when it launched for 1400 dollars like 3 years ago, I still feel like I don't even have the power to use it fully with a 1080ti. But it's still awesome for movies and productivity and the games it does run well.

I got the LG Ultragear 144hz 27" (2k) and couldnt be happier was only $380.00 on amazon. Def the perfect size for gaming. I usually let frames run free and hit over 200fps with no tearing. I have always used LG monitors the last 5 years and never had an issue.

I have the XFX 6800xt and it cuts through games like butter on 1440. Actually runs pretty cool for an AMD chip (hotspot 37 degrees at idle and 68 at full gaming) I think the 3080 beats this model by maybe 10% on the benches I saw on youtube but the price difference made it worth it. Not a fan of ASROCK myself but if its available I would probably get it at the end of the day if a 3080 does come along could always sell it for same or more than what you got it for for now.

^^good **** man. Do you happen to know if they still planning that 42inch OLED this fall? That’s kinda what I’m waiting for for my desk re-arrange.

Though it would just be for the ps5 until I can actually get a card with 2.1 lol.

Got an Asus 4k 120hz monitor at the moment with the 2080ti

I dunno honestly, but if they do I might buy it as a secondary or use the 48" as a regular TV and not a monitor and just switch it out for the 42". But I feel like I'm gonna really like the 48"
