I don't believe the party is anywhere near to being over, that is why I got in finally after watching these coins trade higher everyday.
We're going to see continued government stimulus for the foreseeable future, further devaluing the $$$ / other currencies.
We have increased acceptance of Crypto by mainstream outlets. Large investments by Tesla, Square and PayPal. Wealth funds like Fidelity, JPM, etc... offering cryptocurrency to their clients.
And only a small % of global wealth in the assets with limited supply.
Ease of access to Cryptos have also increased. Anyone can make a Coinbase account and be trading in a day. The fact Coinbase now trades on the stock exchange, gives further legitimacy to the marketplace in the US.
Also since August, the market has made it clear Gold which historically been the beacon of safety and security in challenging times has underperformed and completely fallen out of favor.
From $2,070 down to mid $1,600s during a crisis and still struggling to take back $1,800.

Crypto and SPY has been following each other the past 2 days with the same pattern. There is a big market dump at opener. Slowly rises throughout the day and crabs then repeats. SPY finished overbought so the cycle might repeat tomorrow.

It may be a good project. But people in the presale bought in for pennies from what I heard. Not a fan of this model. It´s pretty much a huge profit right away from the selected people that could buy this for pennies. Might buy some after it dips tho

Boyos,
Been around from the early days of these threads and I'm curious to hear some of the veterans thoughts. Will there ever be another 2018 type crash? This feels so eerily similar to 2018 when no matter what you put your money in you were printing cash. However, this go around it seems like many more institutions are parking cash in Crypto as well (example: German pension plan approved a portion of its allocation to crypto). In 2018 there was the same vibe as now where it felt like it could never end (how most ended up losing their shirts).
In 2018 we saw ETH go from a high of 1,200 down to 100 - losing 85% of it's value. Will we ever see a crash like that again?
My thought is the only way we'll see something like that is if something catastrophic hits the economy. For example, another housing crisis will have all the people who took out insane mortgages pulling their crypto to fund whatever they can.
Curious to hear thoughts

Nobody knows when, but personally I think we're near peak greed for this cycle.
I suspect the bear cycle will be shorter this time though.
We're verging on delusion right now imo. Literally the same thing happened in late 2017:

It’s skipping the crabbing part of the cycle and going to the dip. I hope I’m wrong but if this keeps up well be near or back to sub 50k tomorrow. A 30-40% correction might be in play then which would be mid 30ks to low 40k

The crash will come because all this money on paper means nothing till people start cashing out. When massive cashing out starts, crash will come. Nobody knows when though.

Appreciate the thoughts.
I'm in a similar camp - I've cashed out a lot and am willing to let this market ride for now. Good times can't go on forever and in my mind we've reached full joke status - DOGE is a prime example of that. The feeling is the exact same as the end '18 when everyone and their mother wanted in on Crypto.
I do think as long as Biden keeps printing cash, the market will remain bullish - that money has to go somewhere. But how long this midas touch continues will be a fun to see.

I feel the same way as everyone else, Im saying this as someone still holding NEO at a loss from 2018 lolol. The crypto and stock market both feel heavily inflated right now, thats the only reason I have hesitated to dump my new cash from the stock market into ETH and NEO. I believe in the projects but think sometime in the calendar year, Ill be able to buy more at a much lower price point. I may do a 6X3080 mining rig build instead, it feels safer because of the resale options with the cards, even though a lot of people think ETH will easily clear 10k by the time it switches to 2.0

As a btc maxxer I've hated this market lately. Didn't expect dominance to reach < 50% this soon. Tethered up and shorting eth now, stop loss at entry. Way too many normies in crypto now, I know this thing will pop soon and I hope it doesn't end the bull. I don't think it will because the macro environment is still super favorable and I still think we see 200K within a year but if we see a dip down to the 30s we in trouble. Still staking KSM (auctions soon)

For DFINITY I remembered emails I had where they offered 500CHF equivalent in airdrops, apparently that is now 119ICP. Which at current IOU prices would mean that its a 20K airdrop.
If any of you signed up for it with a free t shirt a few years back in 2018, then you might have a 20k airdrop waiting for you.

If there was no such thing as CG tax, I’d consider dumping a decent portion right now and waiting.
