Pretty much everything was easier when I was a kid
Like in my 20s (1999/2000)
-a full family home in a working class suburb was like 3-4 times an entry level income
-if you had a university degree you were pretty much guaranteed to walk into a well paid job with good prospects
-uni share house cost literally a few dollars a week. House might be falling apart but it was cheap if you didn’t hassle the landlord.
-dating was fairly straightforward, walk up to girls and talk to them. No-one expected a 3 course meal at a hatted restaurant for a date. If you liked each other you smashed and there was no “me too” movement
-even little things like free parking and cheap beer would help if you were a student on a budget
Now everything requires you to be “on your grind” 24/7, careermaxxing, social media maxxing to get women, need to have a “strategy” just to get into the housing market. Everything seems overpriced, can’t even go into a pub to order a pint without it costing like $10 for some swill because it’s “microbrewed”
Current state of the world not even once

Girls are still the same. You don't actually need tinder, ig fame, any of that. You can literally just walk up and say hi. That's how I've met most of the girls I've phucked and all of the girls I've dated, outside 1
The economy is pretty phucked now yea

Not only that but business and culture used to be better as well.
-Used to be able to return anything for a refund, no questions asked. Now because of *******s gaming the system I had to show them a copy of my driver's license to make an exchange on a pair of jeans that ripped after wearing twice
-Certain items at the grocery store are behind a locked case (razor blades, cough medicine, etc)
-Used to be able to go to the doctor's office and get a mole or skintag removed in minor surgery. Today's ******* doctors refuse to do it, will refer me to a dermatologist, still charge me $240 for teh visit. Fukc off.
probably a few other things I am forgetting as well.

Omg can’t believe I forgot political correctness
For the first decade of my working life I don’t think we even had “trannies”
Maybe “transvestite” but that was it
If someone was gay you would not know about it in the office
If you made fun of alternative lifestyles it was fine
Even a certain amount of risque humour about race or religion was ok
Now being one of the alphabet people is a badge of pride, people are searching for an excuse to be outraged and if they pin it on you you’re sacked and can never be employed again
Also pre-September 11 nobody was on edge in airports etc

20 years ago we just thought anyone over the age of 30 or so that wasn’t married or in a hetero relationship was a “confirmed bachelor” and left it at that

I've been reading this forum since I was a kid. Thank God I formed my opinions about women through personal experience and not listening to these guys, or I wouldn't have had one tenth the success and confidence I have now

Yeah maybe when it comes to difficulties with women misc is a bit of a negative echo chamber.

sounds like you are a good candidate for the whiney little bish thread club.

As far as jobs go, there’s tons of jobs around here , there’s really no excuse if you can’t find something decent. I hire interns and they make double hourly what I did 10 years ago.
Didn’t meet my wife via social media. If anything it’s wayyy easier to find an easy smash.
You don’t have to go to breweries and spend $10 a beer , but I like the options now. It’s nice to have places to drink that aren’t sketchy bars.
Consider moving to the southeast man it’s GOAT place to live in the US.

Human beings have always been spectacularly full of schit, but the internet gives people a direct platform to spew their vitriolic ignorance. That, I think, is the largest issue. Things in the 90s were generally laid back because, even if people with tribal/all or nothing beliefs were around, they couldn't regurgitate their nonsense to anyone besides who'd be within ear shot to actually hear their filth.
Internet = simultaneously the greatest and worse human invention.
