Dude, I got stupid lucky TBH. AT one time I had 2 3090s, lmao. It was an MSI, but I prefer eVGA or Asus, so I went to see if I could trade it with someone over at Hardforum and some good dude, just told me he sell me this eVGA I have now at MSRP and he only bought it off of Amazon so scalpers couldn't buy it. He sold it to me before Amazon even shipped it to him, and right when he got it, he shipped it me BRAND new at MSRP.

Retuned my MSI to Microcenter. If I would have known back in December it was going to get RELLY bad (was already bad then, but now it's on another level) I would have sold it to one of you guys at MSRP.

At this point I'm just holding off on playing any new games until my number gets called on EVGA's waiting list. I've started playing Skyrim for the first time ever and have been enjoying that with my gaming time until all of this craziness blows over. I simply will not pay scalper prices on principle.

hey brahs. noticed some of u had some trouble getting gpus so thought i'd share what's worked for me

1) EVGA b stock - this has dried up over the past month but typically this will drop a few hours (i refresh around 5pm-7pm CST) before midnight madness, or around 12pm CST the following day. you have about a 5 window to make a purchase. B stock prices have risen considerably but still within MSRP. to give you an idea, last week had $700 1080ti's and $1000 2080ti's.

2) if you have a microcenter in your state, join the microcenter discord and join the channel for the store locations near you. you can either camp out or wait for a midday drop to get posted. if you intend on arriving in-store for a midday drop, be prepared to gun it all the way to the microcenter

i no longer monitor twitch streams for drops on websites as everything is heavily botted and will be OOS by the time you open the link. i've seen people have luck with best buy drops but YMMV.

Had everything up and running and went into bios and turned on XMP/DAOP or what ever the AMD equiv. is so my RAM could run at it's 3600 speed instead of 21300 it defautls at.

Well, it didn't like that, and I couldn't get it to post anything, just black screen but everything was running, just no picture.

So, googled some chit and found out clearing the CMOS should work, so i figured out how to do that and WALLA it reset my bios and was able to get into the BIOS no black screen anymore. Rest bios and changed the memory to run at 3200 instead of 2100 and that worked.

I was gonna chit my pants if I fuked up my PC.

Probably wouldnt actually fry the system usually most BIOS systems will just shut off and black screen and reset in safe mode these days if the hardware voltage is too high.

What kind of system? I use the ASUS AI for XMP and CPU overclocking with no issues, basically dummy proof OCing. Back in the old days we use to overlock these cheap celeron processors to the gills and yes I fried a couple of them before haha

It's a Asus X570 Prime Pro with a 5950x and eVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra.

It didn't like when I turned on the XMP/ DAOP in the BIOS. So I updated the BIOS to current, was running on a 9 month old version, but that fixed the issue and was able to turn on the XMP/DAOP.

Also, the Prim Pro has turbo mode enabled so it's always going from 3.4 to 5ghz depending on what I'm doing. I did have it at 4.1ghz so it was always at that OC and keeps the temp down on the CPU.

I run a PRIME Z490-A and when I updated to the most recent BIOS version it didnt like my XMP profile and kept black screening when I went back to the orignal version thats around 8 months hold had no problem getting 3600MHZ speeds. Weird. Also try undervolting if your temps are too high was able to reduce my video card temps 20c but just undervolting .30 volts.

Yea, the BIOS update fixed my problem, so it's all good now.

Weird how some Mobos don't like certain settings.

What's the best out of the box desktop computer I can buy right now?

I need something that can handle and edit 4K videos easily. And it should be able to almost visually max out games like Cyberpunk. (I don't really play PC games, but I might get an itch once in a while.)

Don't care about price.

I see, the one in the link is watercooled. If you don't know much about PC systems i wouldn't recommend that one but more with an AIO cooler.

Picked up a 5900x from antononline on ebay for $600. $50 over MSRP, but I figure the next time I'll be able to actually buy one inflation will have already driven up the price of the CPU. Just need to find a motherboard and new Liquid AIO cooler now. Now if EVGA would ever call my 3080/3090 number after nearly 4 months on the waiting list lmao.

I have a feeling it's the cpu cooler tbh

Last built my PC in 2014 with AMD chit. Need some upgrades since I’m gonna start gaming again. I don’t know anything about current hardware. Can you brahs suggest what to get. Money isn’t a factor. Will probably have to upgrade everything except the case and RAM, but I could probably get more since it’s cheap

Nice! tho parts are laughably overpriced at the moment and you probably won't find any graphics card

Pretty normal for a fresh build to smell like that. It shouldn't smell like literal burning metal, but hot metal (hard to describe the smell) is normal.

Computer keeps freezing while playing games. This is a 7 yr old PC but I’m playing fuking Classic WoW. I tried updating drivers and cleaning out the dust which it had a lot of. Still freezing. I think it might be the thermal paste but I don’t want to change it unless I have to. It does run somewhat hotter while gaming. What do you think it would be?

The only thing I'm worried about with the LG 48 is the brightness

Qleds are apparently way brighter and have a similar picture but I've also heard the oleds picture is just that good you can't go back
