Invest what you can afford to lose. I'm timing when to buy in, not sure as of now. See ya in the future when it's probably $100k. Will bump this thread

Holy chit. I sold everything when Musk said they would stop accepting Bitcoin. Smelled some serious bullchit there and paniced. Then the coins bounced back a bit and I started thinking I sold early and should buy back. Holy chit am I glad I didn't.

Tie your money up in a non-productive asset for 3x gains with no timeline in terms of when those gains could be realized?

No thanks

You may not think it's useful, but the gains were real.

I mean that's your choice. Keeping investing in your 401k hoping you have enough to retire by 60. That's IF the economy doesn't collapse over the next 30 years. BTC isn't the only coin out there either. There's still $2 coins that could explode, so for a relatively small investment, the risk is worth it. $5k can become $100k real quick.

This is the mentality that keeps people poor IMHO. Nothing worth doing is easy and chasing get-rich-quick schemes will not lead to good things

But just for fun, these are my gains from stonk purchases over the last year. And this is as of today after being down almost $8k intraday from the whole market dropping

Spoiler!

Yeah but how much did you invest over the past year? Did you invest $1k? $4k? Not all Stocks do that well and make those types of gains and I imagine they don't consistently perform that well.

Everything there was invested in the last year. I don't expect to make those same gains year over year in those holdings but am ready with more $$$ for other opportunities that present themselves and are within my realm of competency

How much did you invest to make those type of games is what I'm asking. Did you invest $1k?

A relatively low risk sum of $1k in Ethereum back in March 2020 would be worth $31k right now.

I fail to see how investing 2% of your salary for a potential of 1000% gain as greedy.

$5k of your initial investment would have beat out most your stock gains easy. At the end of the day, high IQ folks are in stocks and crypto. Anybody talking down on crypto are just made plebs are easily beating their stock gains by crazy margins.
