Yeah, a Chinese brah whose family owned a Chinese takeaway/restaurant said the same thing to me.

He said the food they cooked for the British public, was different to the food they eat at home.

I experienced the same married to a half Indian/half Jamaican woman. For British people it's basically curries, and meat drench in sauces (I'm not saying they aren't nice), but the home cooked food had a mix of subtle spices.

Asian food could be the GOAT tbh, but Greek food and Mexican food also top tier. And American Soul food/BBQ is godly. Germany gets an honorable mention.

Italian food is the adults version of the kids menu. Oh you ordered spaghetti and meatballs? Grow up ded fkn srs.

I think what we can all agree on though, is that the UK has the worst cuisine in the world.
