i'd say there are a lot of frauders in here
especially buddy that says he was benching 3 plates in a year lmao

anything 3 and up is impressive to me, but again BW is the most important factor

Some years ago, a coworker was kind of bragging about how much a supervisor claimed he bench. Whatever it was, it was an impressive number, but the supervisor was fat as hell. I said something like "So that's what? 1x bodyweight?" The other guy thought about it for a moment before admitting it didn't sound so impressive.

I was going to say 225 max is decent but now I feel weak with these answers lol.

There is a difference between decent and strong though. Decent means respectable to me. I would say if someone can put up 225 it would be respectable. Someone who is strong would be 285 or 315.

There’s only one lightweight that I know of, that can push 405lbs if not more now:

Depends who you're comparing yourself to. Most average people (non-lifters or casual lifters) would probably find 2 plates impressive or at least respectable. If you're comparing yourself to more serious lifters then it's gotta be at least 3 plates.

I mean it’s really impressive. I don’t even know of a 180-190lbs powerlifter that presses 405lbs+

And this guy, he does a legit 2-3 second pause which is amazing.

% of BW is the best way to go about it.

But I would say below <225 and it isn't impressive period, as you have to be pretty ****in small for it to be significant, to the point that it's hard to even look like you lift at 140 lbs regardless of what your bench is.
