Man can a mod sticky this thread pls? I feel like we should have one sticky thread just for random gaming chit about what we're playing like what this thread is about.
Since I've finished Ratcher, I decided to go back to my run of FF7 remake since I stopped it at chapter 14 last year ...... Goddamn, I had so many complaints about this game when I initially played it on ps4 .... But I've forgotten how fukkin good this game looks and how fukking good it plays. I think I may finally finish this game thanks to the PS5 upgrade lol .... I'm still playing on fidelity 30 fps because all those graphics options are far too good for me to to switch it over to 60 fps. Currently on chapter 14 since thats where I stopped on ps4, so I'm finishing off a bunch of a sidequests, but I legit cant wait for the next final fantasy mainline game and the sequel to the remake.
I've got a love-hate relationship with this company .... I genuinely think they're incompetent as developer's and have no idea on QOL, quest design and a bunch of chit, but even with their incompetence they still make such great games.

Played through the Yuffie dlc and now replaying FF7R. Gonna try and finish the platinum depending on how annoying some of the trophies are.

I bought King of Fighters 13 during that SNK sale. 75% off I think? I always liked those KoF games with the crazy high budget pixel graphics. Really beautiful IMO.
And I'm still playing the translation patch for Tales of Destiny DC. I took my time exploring everything and playing on hard mode, so I got pretty burnt out by it. It's still one of the best classic tales games, but maybe I'm just too old for JRPGs.

Then again who knows, I'm apparently one of the few who thoroughly enjoyed FFXV so maybe I'm the odd man out here.
I downloaded A Plague Tale on XSX, but I just heard it's getting a 4k/60 native launch so I'm going to shelve playing that game for the time being until that drops. Especially with Dark Alliance right around the corner.

Have any of you guys thought about volunteering as a video game tester for local'ish game developers? It's something I am currently trying to get involved in...with not much luck.
If you want to do it seriously as a career it tends to require a computer based qualification or something of the like, but I'm hoping that for voluntary testing they are more lenient.
It's just that I'm critical as phuck with games and constantly thinking about "they should have done this" or "this camera angle sucks" or "REALLY, I have to go back to HERE after dying?!"

So far I'm 46 hours into mass effect 3. Parts 1 and 2 I spent 35ish hours on each meaning overall I've gotten like 120 hours of content out of the Legendary edition and I still have a ton to do in the third game.
Well worth the value.
I had a few complaints with ME1, but that's expected for the first game of a series. The story was great and I liked the role playing aspects alot. ME 2 bumped up the quality in graphics and gameplay, and was quite fun to play. My only complaints were the planet scanning mechanic and the lack of an epic overall story. It was mostly about character dynamics and helping your team with their individual stories, which is okay. ME3 had even BETTER combat, graphics and got you right smack back into the epic story. Feels like a proper war game and gives you that impending sense of doom. There is much more content here. I haven't reached the ending and I heard the fan base doesn't like it. Maybe I won't either but I won't let a bad ending take away from how awesome the entire game has been. Easily the best of the three games with my only real complaint being the God awful quest log menu.

On chapter 9 now of my second playthrough of FF7R. I may not agree with some of the changes and I do wish that it was truly a remake but still, this is a very special game. Got the feels all over again walking around places like Sector 7 and Wallmarket. The FF7 soundtrack was already the greatest video game music ever but Remake just made it even better. Very tempted to go buy a record player and the official soundtrack.

I have a ton more complaints about FF7R but the music, the slums, the characters and dialog... Really draws you in and makes the game feel special.
I want to do a replay of W3 and FF7R after my mass effect playthrough. Will start with FF7R

And yeh, the journo/quest/ui system was dogchit, they actually regressed from 2 and 1 .... It felt like a work in progress that never got finished. Had to resort to guides to find out what to do next.

I'm on Act 3 of Ghost of Tsushima. I'm hoping to finish the game this coming week, while splitting some of my time with Cyberpunk. But this morning when I woke up I thought to myself "I should play some Civ 6." Fastforward 8 hours and it's obvious that I'll keep playing until I go to bed. I've only got less than two months before Humankind comes out, so this is my last hurrah for Civ games for awhile

Pretty much exhausted Just Cause 4. It is a huge game, but soooo repetitive. The only thing to do now is a stunt markers and speed checks, and they look to grindish TBH.
I'm feeling the call of the remastered ME trilogy. I do have GAME PASS though and they list some of the better rated horror games (RE7, Alien Isolation, Evil Within bundle etc.) which would of course be "free" as I'm paying a monthly fee. ME tril is still over £50 I believe.

On my way through The Evil Within 2, playing it in first person mode and it feels so different compared to the original third person mode. So good so far
