Credit Cards: How many cards do you have?

I've got 2 both with about a 30k limit, don't use either. Have always had one and then got the other when we started my (soon to be ex) wife's business several years ago because we had about 20k in startup costs and I got a second card to bounce the balance over so I could have a year at 0% to spread out those costs. I've got a best buy card that I used to use from time to time on a same as cash 12 month deal or whatever.
I am cash and carry now tho.

2. Ran up debt into the 5 figures over the course of 8 years. About a decade or so ago, I unfukked my situation before the debt really got bad. Spent that 10 years switching the balance from 0 interest card to 0 interest card until it was done next year.
Now we gotta figure out which perks to get on the next, permanent card

I only have one, but I'm looking to add another to get my credit score up above 800. I'm trying to decide between a card with a big signup bonus like the Chase Sapphire Preferred or a flat cash back card like the Citi Double Cash.

Anyone know people who carry a balance?
Don’t understand how dim witted people must be to view it as free money and have 10k+ of consumer loan debt
Cars, mortgages, education I get. But credit card debt for worthless chit? It’s amazing

3 or 4
I used to have more. they keep closing them for inactivity. I never close them for credit score purposes but forgot to charge to some of the older ones so they close them out without asking me which pisses me off.
i use my cashback ones and amazon one.
I have one I keep reoccuring bills on and the other I use in person. Hate being skimmed and then having to go to all my bill accounts and enter in a new credit card, big pain in the ass

And these days anything that expensive will almost always do 12-months same as cash so 0% interest also.
But running up debt buying dumb chinese plastic chit and sneakers and clothes? brain dead.

Have 3. The third one I added strictly for credit score purposes with no intent to use it.
When I went to close my mom's Amex they said I could take it over instead of closing it. Didn't keep up my own credit when I was married and the account had 9 years on it.
Seemed like a good idea at the time. But the NTTA has screwed me over so bad. Continue to charge me forsomeone else'stolls and refuse to stop doing it.
- car was sold before my mom passed
- car registered to new owner, mom's TT was removed and the new owner has their own TT account
It has been a whole thing with the new owner contacting them, me contacting them. They said once that they would take the card "off the account" and there were no charges for a month or so, then they started again.
Amex person I spoke to said I have to print copies of all the statements, mark the fraudulent charges and open a fraud case. NTTA says flat out they will not refund the charges or research it or anything at all. Say I have to get my CC company to fix it.
Closing in on $800+ in toll tag fees at this point.
Did the stupid buying stuff/eating outetc. in my 20s. This time was real necessity.
I don't want to file BK. Not sure I can avoid it without selling this house. And then I still have to have housing.

I've had 2 for the past couple years, but just opened a 3rd. 819 credit score.
The new one is Citi Custom Cash - gives 5% back on up to $500 worth of purchases in a single category and 1% on everything else. I'll use this solely on groceries to max that out.
Chase Amazon Prime - 5% cash back on all Amazon purchases (including subscribe and save) and 2% back on restaurants, pharmacies, and gas stations.
Capitol One Quicksilver - 1.5% on everything. I use this as my main card for every purchase that isn't one of the previous specific categories (and groceries before the new card/now after I've hit the $500 limit).

Being dinged because I have only one card I pay off monthly and no debt.
Guess I need to get another card to get over 800.

7 total but only use saphire reserve with a 20k limit (travel for work often)
have all my utilities and other recurring charges billed to one other card.
everything else is for available credit purposes only.
have earned well north of $2,000 worth of rewards through chase saphire and have paid $0 in interest since having the card.
high 700s credit score

I have 4, but only use one for gas and sh!t randomly. They’re all old and outdated.
Anyone have a recommendation for a good CC? Don’t travel much, but the air miles ones always sound kind of chill.
793 credit score
