It promotes a hivemind like mentality with the upvote system, where expressing an unpopular opinion is discouraged and hidden. It used to be alright in its early days, now it's mostly left-wing cancer. It's made worse that most of the mods are beta cucks who will ban you for posting anything they don't like, even if it doesn't break a rule. Theres a few decent subreddits but they are few and far between. All the large ones are trash.

They don't. Hardly most experience real life to even implement this talk anywhere outside of a simple sub.

Good thing is, at least in my experience, I've noticed a lot of the type of people who go full soy on reddit are actually pretty reasonable if you talk to them without fear of downvoting or bans. Imagine that.

learn that you're on the hook to fund your retirement completely while your superiors have a fat pension waiting for them
spending 40%+ of your income on housing and still living with roommates
spending 10% of your income on medical insurance, despite rarely needing it
will likely never be able to own a home, but your mechanic dad's house that he bought for 40k is now worth 800k.
staring at 5%+ inflation with 2% raises
having little-to-no financial literacy because our educational system is fooked.
seeing your peers' jobs outsourced to chithole countries in the name of higher profits

Majority of the comments were in support of the lady, so Reddit just deleted everything and locked the thread

My nephew moved in with me. No lie he is on his phone 90% of the evenings - always reddit. But he doesn't even post comments. He just reads sht all night. Blows my mind. I would post a pic of him but he's my nephew so naaaa. True definition of a neck beard. Trump hater but has no interest in politics or economics. Videos games all weekend. could go on....

The karma system drives people away from reddit.

It not only encourages people to post pro-soy content, it also promotes soys to attack non-soy content. This is detrimental to everyone, especially the soys caught up in it. When a karma system encourages you to attack wrong think, this leads to hatred and anger. Very detrimental and harmful in the long term.

When the head cuck in charge at reddit came out and said that conservative content angered liberals and that it was a problem, the solution should have been to revamp the karma system and to moderate both sides that took things to far. Instead they just started aggressively removing conservative content and users. They even implemented "anti-spam" features that remove content from users that have negative karma. Guess who gets negative karma? People whose ideology is outside the group think.
