fukkin remember when ppl just started using FB in 2006-2007. i was in HS in 06-2010, but i remember watching The New Guy, and other HS movies, where ppl had their own cliques and styles. you ahd the skateboarders, the rock band peeps, the gamers and all the different ppl just doin their thing. instagram wasnt even that bad when it first came out, when ppl were just posting random chit. then jen selter, and paigehathaway types came along and influencers became a thing

but now young generation are living life for the internet. lol

Graduated high school in 1999. Last night I watched the HBO docu on Woodstock 99 - the nostalgia was overpowering. (It helps that I was able to completely ignore/block-out all of the identity politics social justice propaganda and just enjoy the footage)

Man the concert-going experience was so different back then, prior to smart phones. The crowds were so much a part of the experience. Nowadays, I remember going to Lollapalooza in like 2016 and saw a guy watch the entire Metallica set through his ipad screen that he was holding up. Made no sense.

To be fair, I think during classes most high schools keep phones out or confiscate them, but I'm guessing a lot of people during lunch just sit and stare at their phones the whole time

Check out youtube vids of old MLB games. Like from the 80s or early 90s. EVERYONE in the stands was either rail-thin or normal weight.
Now everyone "could stand to lose a couple of pounds" (code for morbidly obese)

Difference is even the youth are massively depressed now, so it's clearly not just ye old "twas better in my days". Things have spiraled fast, bullying follows kids home now from school via social media online bullying. Hyper vanity and comparitive due to social media leading to people of all age groups feeling dissatisfied/depressed.

this 99%. I will leave 1% because these days are definitely more tense for kids with psycho adult leftists shoving race and gayness down their throats.

I will also say theres a ton more pressure on kids these days because instant access to things like tik tok and youtube takes their world from their close circle of friends and family to the entire globe. You have to understand that that makes everything hyper competitive as well as seeing glamorized lifestyles from other kids their own age even.

in the 90’s/00’s your buddies got the new playstation and you got jealous but it was still attainable by you via christmas or your birthday or mowing some lawns. These days kids logon to watch a roblox streamer who is living in a mansion and has everything a kid could ever dream of, and thinking there is no hope for them to ever get that. Or a 12 year old girl gets on tik tok and see a 15 year old whore with huge tits and millions of simps glamorizing her. Lol and they thought skinny chicks in swimsuit ads hurt the self esteem of regular girls…

Not only that, your fellow classmates are all getting into the local university and maybe one goes off to a well known college but now you go on your phone and youre exposed to all these people going off to harvard and yale, ect.

Top all that off with their teachers, parents, and society all fighting over space in their heads. Parents just want them to focus on their education but the teachers and society want them to be hyper concerned over their sexuality and private parts starting in elementary school.

There is enormous pressure on kids today and it kinda sucks honestly.
