Stoli, you ever been to the oasis restaurant on lake Travis?

Wife and I went today after 10 years....it's not even a restaurant, it's a tourist trap now. There was a two hour wait, a line like cattle and a poorly run bar waiting area. Bathrooms had no locks, no toilet paper and on duty police with their hands resting on their guns.

They don't accept reservations, so I wouldn't go unless you can get on like a vip list or don't try to go on Saturday night.

Did you watch in person or on TV? I have not been to an in person game.
I used to be an avid fan of the Lakers back in the days of Magic, Kareem, Worthy and so on. The battles with the Celtics were epic.

Then, I figured out that the playoffs were fixed. Oddly enough, a former ref came out with a book not long after about how they fixed certain games.

Haven't watched a game in decades. Don't miss.

Haven't been there In a long time, but I'm not surprised. Austin has doubled in population in the past fifteen years. Still, that's very sad to hear.

In case anyone is wondering, Oasis is the restaurant where one of the Bush daughters used a fake ID to buy booze and the manager **** his pants and called 911 about it. Two years after that it was struck by lightning and burnt down.

I talked to an old lifting partner earlier. He got both his jabs in January/February. He is 35, lean, healthy, exercises regularly, rarely drinks, doesn't think all women are whores, etc. He does have asthma, though.

Anyways, he went to Vegas for a vacation a couple weeks ago and contracted COVID while he was there. He felt a bit crappy towards the end of vacation but pushed through it. He tried to get tested in Vegas but tests were booked up for five days. He flew home wearing a N95 mask. When he got home a rapid covid test came back positive.

His symptoms in general have been loss of taste/smell, mild fever that comes and goes, sinus congestion, and tickled asthma. He also experienced an intense 12 hour period of chills and body aches early on in his infection that didn't repeat. Mercifully, there was no real lower respiratory involvement. He thinks without the vaccine he'd have probably wound up in the hospital with pneumonia.

So that's the first breakthrough infection of someone I know.

My wife is in public health, and a family of one of her colleagues in Zambia (I think) got a breakthrough infection. They all had mild symptoms, but it's definitely a thing.

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

Metroins - make sure you do regular adequate professional physical therapy for an extended period with a reputable therapist- stop the re-hurting ankle cycle.

It would be interesting to track how many total milligrams of caffeine I’ve had this year.

I’m going to see if there is some how some way to plug in a sabbatical next year.

Sounds like a smart move. Free up your time and take some extra time for you and your family. There is nothing more sad than to see someone work their ass off and keep telling themselves it will pay off in retirement just to see them die a year or two after they retire

Supply team and staffing issues - they will probably be out of one of the ingredients, and not enough associates to provide good service lol

Hopefully not - it will be nice if they can get it right

Booster?

I thought your first jab was like 5 months ago.

I was planning on sourcing our boosters this week but haven't had time. Everything takes longer with a broken foot.

In your opinion, what is driving all the supply chain issues everybody is having. Is it pure demand, or somethin else? Lack of workers, maybe?
