lol @ assuming I was comparing the norm in a city like Tokyo (shoebox apartment and sardine can metro system) to the same type of money that will afford you much more spacious accommodations in most parts of the US. Oh, when you said live in Japan you meant outside the major metropolises where it might actually be cheap to own a home? Ok then, I haven't been outside the city so I wouldn't know the real estate climate - I just know that when weebs/anti americans talk of Japan in such platitudinous nature, they're talking about Tokyo or Osaka.

All I can say is, Japan would git absolutely wrecked by the Chinese.

And as much as I dislike American'ts, there's still hope for them. Lot's of good dudes, black, white, Asian, Mexican. It's a bit of a struggle. Japanese don't speak English well.

It's sort of worse when you speak Japanese but not very well. You'll always hear 'Jouzou desu' as a reply. That means,'Oh your Japanese is good'. But you know it sucks and they know it sucks and it's hard to tell whether they're being polite or sarcastic lol.

People overestimte how hard Japanese is (spoken I mean, written is something else). It's not that hard to become good enough to cope with life there, although good luck becoming good enough to have in depth conversations. I spent 5 years studying Japanese really hard and trying to always speak with Japanese people in Japanese (not so easy as they want to practice English) but I fukking suck at languages and prob got to an intermediate level. Never again will I try to learn a foreign language even though I'm now permanentlly settled in a Central European country where the people don't speak English either.

Fck Japan. For all it's flaws, Scotland of the 90s is my home and I'd rather live in that place than any other society. Now it's full of non-Whites and gay sht. I feel like an alien in my homeland. People don't even use our dialect now, use Americanisms...basically full blown globohomo.

visited japan a few years ago (before Biden and when America was on the up&up with Trump)

i was generally disappointed. But thats because ive always wanted to visit japan (no yellow fever) so i romanticized it and was expecting some super tech advanced place. Honestly Japan felt like it was stuck in the 80s tech wise. Like if this was 1985 it would have been a wonder.

But on the good side of things, i would have felt 100% safe and secure with letting my 9 year old daughter walk alone in Tokyo at night. Its crazy safe.

The people i felt were pretty bland and were all extremely similar and off-putting. The way i described Tokyo was New York but with zero crime, cleaner, and less interesting people. At the time i thought I would prefer to live in NYC because it definitely seemed like a more interesting place to be on a day-to-day basis. But with how everything has shaken out over the last couple years I would choose Japan over pretty much any place in the US currently.

In a Trump america , pre covid, where liberty was on the rise again, crime was plummeting, and this countryโ€™s future was looming awesome there was not even a thought of moving to a place like Japan. But now, jesus christ lefties have utterly trashed this place with no end in sight. They are continuing to make this country downright trash to raise a kid in.

If we cant get this place back on track i need to make some serious considerations. But the good thing is is that i believe we will get it back and that a fully functioning America trounces any place on earth, even Japan.

With all that said i have no idea what its like to actually live there and a family of 5 would have me going from a 3,500sq luxury hone to a 1000 shoebox and idk how much city safety that i dont even live in is worth that

Life isn't all glitter in Japan. On the outside, it may look awesome but within the society itself there is a great deal of strangulation and suffocation of independence and free-thinking as you are forced to conform and social stigma is ruthless if you can't make it.

Its a clean break basically. Women definitely do not get the benefit when it comes to raises or work in general, or even civil disputers (they are equal). Women would get passed up on raises or straight up fired if it meant a man could get a role. And women after having children are thought to be unfit to work and tend to get fired or shadowbanned from raises after having a kid. Again because their responsibility is the kids. This is in general.

I attribute this to the food. Every restaurant I went to, even the "fast-food" ones, tasted fresh and ripe. Sushi bars with fish freshly caught that day and not sitting in a freezer for weeks. Lawsons and 7-11s carrying freshly made rice balls with different types of fish. Grocery stores keeping a self-serve oven of sweet potatoes as a to-go meal. In general food at restaurants also lacked large amounts of sodium. They were able to turn simple ingredient meals into the most delicious food I've ever had. The amount of fresh and healthy foods to eat while on the go were boundless. Not to mention it was cheap and affordable.

Compare that with America, the only way to really eat healthy is to cook it yourself. Even the "healthy" restaurants like Sweet Green or Chipotle are loaded with insane amounts of sodium. I always feel incredibly bloated after eating that trash. The self-serve overly priced build your own box at Whole Foods is a joke. While it may be healthier than the alternatives, it's still food that's been sitting there all day and it costs an insane amount.
American food is fuking poverty. Honestly might be the worst thing about the US. I love a lot about the US but the food has always been a fuking sad joke. Can't get fresh food anywhere for less then 25 bucks and most restaurants cost an arm and leg. Fast food is poison with no variety. NONE. Just burgers for ****s sake. Colombia ALWAYS had lightyears better food than the US and there much poorer than the US. American food is all "juiced" up.

This is not uncommon and a big issue because Japan protects their own (As any country should). They've been criticized by other countries and chit because of this practice but their policy is Japanese first so it won't change. If you believe your wife is crazy enough to do this chit 1) you need to get th fuk out of that marriage n your country, 2) don't get your kids a passport/cancel their passport. In teh US you can request State department to cancel a child's passport in a couple of days notice if you believe abduction is a risk. Wont be let out of the country then. It pings an alert to the TSA officer.

The US is beyond repair srs. I've come to that sad conclusion over hte past year. It's beyond help. It's rotted from within and is never coming back. It's fuked and the horde of illegal immigrants ain't going to help. US is going the way of Paris soon. This is why I'm trying to figure out a way to get my daughter the fuk out of there. Don't need some ****lian tranny raping her and getting paid for his efforts.

You all realize us western brahs even if living in Japan, we don't have to work for Japanese companies right?

There are plenty of western companies that are modernized in Japan. All you need is to learn Japanese language just for dealing with Japanese people.

Also you Americans work 60 hours yourself I always hear, so how can you complain about their work ethic fkin lol? In Europe we do 35 to 40 hours regularly, for us it would be horrible to work 80 hours thats for sure.

But yeah agree OP. Japan is amazing from what I heard and my next destination. Have lived in a poorer country like Vietnam for a while myself and I liked it way better than any country I have visited in Europe lol.

It is just something when you are around a different culture and you don't need to hear or care about first world problems like feminists, woke news and useless politics.

Loved Japan when we visited in 2019. Encourage everyone to go. The people there are extremely friendly, its not too expensive, easy to get around and speaking English was never a problem

Not sure I could live there though

Your biggest problem is you are not living in Japan like a Japenese person does. You have white American privelage in Japan ...even when it came to getting your wife.


Japan is a terrible place for quality of life for people that are actually Japanese. If you are born there have fun working 80 hrs a week to live in a small ass apartment and pay to cuddle with sloots. Grils are very picky and faminised .. most guys are incels Japan is ****ed. Its so bad over there that they are literally losing population because people are not getting married and having babies.

Sure if you are a white guy go there and take advantage of the fact you can teach Engrish and get paid nicely and have the stupid Asian sloots want to suck your d simply because you are white than sure its great being there. For the most people that are actually born there quality of life is absolute dog ****

If Japan is so great go ahead and tell me where it ranks by population hapiness go ahead....you wont even find it in top 20-30

It's like, if you're a doctor or something in the States you wouldn't marry trailer park trash right? But the equivalent in Japan happens a lot and I don't know one Western guy who was happily married to a Japanese woman. They are extremely controlling and bitchy. Their MO is ultimately to divorce the guy, claim abuse and then take the kids to their parents. Japan finally signed up to the Hague convention but it's meaningless as the police won't enforce it. So you find all these Western guys who get to see their kids once in a blue moon and have to pay the b*tch and her family through the nose for it.

The justice system is also completely f**ked. If you happen to get caught up in it the Jap police won't give a single fukk about your side of the story (assuming there's a Japanese person involved) and you can be detaines for weeks without being charged or having access to a lawyer. In fact lawyers aren't even allowed to sit in with interviews with police.

Plus you're not going to make close Japanese friends, probably even if you speak fluent Japanese. They'll use you to practice English but that's pretty much as far as it goes. Their mentality is just too different.

I love Japan but most foreigners stay there for a couple of years and then leave and there's a reason behind that. Westerners tend to idolise Japan and there is much to admire but until you have lived there you don't see the bad stuff.
Yes USA has been a ****hole for a while and turning into a even bigger **** hole by the day but Japan is on a whole other level. The amount of incels and suicides in Japan does not even compare here to USA. Their family courts are even more ****ed up than ours as hard as it is even to believe that.

Japan is at the top of my to-visit list. When I imagine what I'd do with a substantial lottery winning, I can see myself sitting in the peaceful Japanese countryside next to my cabin playing shamisen beneath the cherry trees.

It's fuking shocking. I remember the first time I saw the american level of obesity. It was in cottamn Plattsburgh, the proverbial tip of the USA iceberg. People there were so cottamn fat it made no sense. I had never seen a 300 pound child. I went to Perkins for a disgusting all-american heart valve clogging breakfast and witnessed a family like in nutty professor 2. BRB it wasn't enough they were pounding all that disgusting sausage biscuit and gravy schit down their throats but they were washing it down with copious amounts of soda and finished it off with pies for dessert. It was fuking 9am. The 600 pound mom was literally force feeding her dying son pie as he struggled to catch his breath. That was one of the most pathetic and disturbing scenes I've ever witnessed.

Rant over. Japan seems GOAT.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*

I have contacts there that said private/international school teachers in a legit subject, not just English, is very sought after (Covid aside) and very well respected and paid. Since I am a Comp Sci grad from a good UK uni and work experience they waant you to come teach skills for the digital economy
