I mean it is quite clear cut tbh if you do some reading;

Japan has a lot of cool stuff that is objectively good and can draw many foreigners.

Equally, it has cultural stuff that might affect mental health that many foreigners do not see as tourists and are blind to.

If you are young and want to try something new - living there for a year doing something can be an amazing experience that can open up opportunities. And this can make sense if you are taking your career advancement there.

so what type of jobs can a White EU-UK citizen try to get that is not a subhuman english teacher
Trying to navigate that issue myself honestly but the technical answer is any job that doesn't require citizenship or a native Japanese degree or license. For example foreigners can never be real teachers at public school because real teachers at public school need a Japanese teaching license which needs a Japanese teaching degree. Can't work for the government or police. Basically no public work. Private field, anyone who is willing to hire you you can work at. The biggest fields seem to be English teaching world and IT world, maybe finance in some companies that are just Japanese branches of foreign companies. The biggest thing is that to find decent work in Japan you MUST, MUST, MUST speak the language fluently, including reading and writing. When I say fluently I mean as fluent as you can get without being raised there. Not I can navigate alone in a city fluent. More like I can defend myself in a court of law fluent. Having this fluency will allow you to work in anything and anywhere where they're willing to hire a foreigner. honestly if you're Asian or real native American looking Hispanic and you're that fluent they might not even know you're not Japanese until they notice possible quirks or dig into your legal status.

Look man if you look at the hours worked in Japan, the cost of living, the alcohol problem, the suicide rates, the housing prices, the house sizes, the incel rates all this stuff theres no way you can convince me that its a great place to live or even better than here in USA.

What you fail to understand is that our defense budget is a global deterrent. It has nothing to do with protecting other country's land. If we wanted that land, we'd take it. I never said it is better, I just simply stated that happiness surverys are very flawed, regardless of what they show.

The quantitative data I used is to show that it is not a developing ****hole - it has industries, tech, low crime;


And I mentioned several times that the negatives I know about that contribute to the suicide rate cant be ignored in OP's claims.

ok brah really trying to figure out what your deal is. What makes a good country in your opinion? Sexual puritanism? Plenty of it in the middle east srs.

Let's address your points:

Cheaper in many cases, more in some others. Tokyo and Osaka are obviously expensive but so is NYC or Boston. Tit for tat though comparing an American suburb or countryside to a Japanese suburb or countryside, land and homes are cheaper without being in the middle of bumfuk nowhere like in the US countryside (US is huge). Most countryside in Japan is 2 to 3 hours away by train to a large city at the most and within their own towns and cities there's always at least a nice mall with all the chit you might need (JP is small). Food is cheaper. Electronics are cheaper. Clothes can be more expensive especially bran clothes. Gas is expensive as fuk though at 6 dollars a gallon usually.

I never said it is better, I just simply stated that happiness surverys are very flawed, regardless of what they show.

The quantitative data I used is to show that it is not a developing ****hole - it has industries, tech, low crime;


And I mentioned several times that the negatives I know about that contribute to the suicide rate cant be ignored in OP's claims.

I thought OP was comparing it to the USA not 3rd world ****holes. Ofcourse i would take Japan over Nigeria, India, Zimbabwe etc but vs USA no way.

Even weird **** aside about Japan, Me personally i would much rather live in USA where i can work 40 hrs a week and afford a nice-sized apartment, a nice car, and have time to enjoy hobbies compared to working 80hrs a week living in small apartment having to use public transportation and being misreable.

We can agree to disagree though.

seems like Japan is good for Japanese people in general

but it seems like the work and incel culture really sucks

also why the fuk do these animes always emphasize the "power of friendship", seems like a reflection of what is actually lacking in their society. you're basically just a wheel in the cog, you're lonely, nobody gives a phuck, nobody cares to make friends with each other or develop a sense of that small town community. everybody just on their own little island. seems depressing af. no wonder roping is an issue there. The whole emphasis on respect seems like a really good superficial facade when underneath it all there are huge problems.

you do realize almost all of japan's top grossing movie releases are in the anime drama, and adults in that country watch anime series like americans watch Netflix?

you seem to know a lot about their culture, but overlooking that fundamental truth about their modern way of living makes me question if you've even been to the country longer than brief staycations
