Seen a few companies now back to posting "on the spot" job interviews. This was how it was back in the day where you could walk in off the street and get hired the same day. Companies desperate for workers should have been doing this all along before the pandemic, instead of jerking around the many applicants they've gotten over the previous years.

So why are you surprised you aren't getting applicants if you're offering less than what they are already making?

The USA is unfortunately turning more Blue every year due to continuous demographics changes specifically poor minorities having 8 kids (Typically Democrat Voters) as well as undesirables/freeloaders pouring in over the border and also having 8 kids (Also Democrats). I am typically am optimist but I'm glad I won't be around in 50 years to see what happens to this country. It's inevitable. When a company gives away too much free money, what happens? They go broke. The Democrats want this all to happen - they want open borders so they can promise freebies , get votes, and get more and more power. This is not how this country became great. Hard work and free market capitalism made this country great. Unfortunately, I think the Tour's Over. Democrats are destroying this country.

Here in Florida we came dangerously close (within a few thousand votes) to ending up with this POS as our Governor -

The lack of punctuation threw me off lol. There has to be some reason people aren't applying. Is it dangerous? Is it the type of job that very few are qualified for? $30 an hour is 10k over the medianhouseholdincome in NC so if nobody is applying there is a good reason

Like I said earlier the only jobs where I live that aren't getting filled are the types of jobs where you couldn't afford to live on your own. I talked to a guy a the state DOT yesterday and he said they aren't having any problem filling openings. They have great state benefits but the pay starts between $20 and $25k and the work is hard. I think one of the reasons they can get people to work is because there is a clear path to progression in that career. Sure, it starts low but if you show up everyday and do your work you can move up pretty quick and even if you don't stay there forever you have some experience for your resume. Retail and food service isn't like that.

Is this a srs bread Muzzbrah? First Secretary Xiden is paying everyone unlimited unemployment or whatever. 95% of minimum wage employees would much rather just take 70-80% of their chit salary and do phuck all than clock on and a trivial amount more.

That's probably why they're minimum wage employees in the first place.

Lol 75% of people under 25 are full blown socialists now. I would say even millennials a good 50/50 split on the amount of socialist scumbags exist. No one wants to put in the hard work. It's all about getting an only fans and doing some outrageous chit, or getting a tik tok or youtube following. Not to mention that the boomers have left us a husk of what once was a great country.

Yea its a pretty niche field…normally we would get applications anyways, regardless of qualifications. Now its none qualified or not

In some industries they eliminated a lot of people's position for no reasons. I am in the hotel/ service industry and that's what happened to a lot people. Why would you back to an industry that don't value you ..Now they are struggling? Let them deal with the consequences

At that kind of money you might even be losing money after factoring in gas and increased caloric requirements as opposed to rotting. No one has any trouble filling jobs in the $30k, which isn't a lot of money btw, and up range around here its just the minimum wage 32 hour a week jobs that go unfilled

Edit: Wizard above me said the same thing but much more concise
Well yeah, if you're not earning enough to support a family don't have one. Even as a proud member of rawdog only crew I always pulled out until I was clearing enough that I didn't worry about that. As usual the problem here is poor decision making rather than something the government needs to do.

I'd bet a bunch of teenagers in today's world don't work. I know when I was a teenager I'd work so I could have that $200 to blow in Daytona Beach or trying to hobble together a keg party at the house, but I think today they just rot on TikTock using phones their parents pay for. Why work if you don't do anything that requires money?

On the positive side if they can't find staff they'll do a combination of wage raises and automation so the people who actually want to work will make more.

I'd say it's been like 15+ yrs. When the job market was tight after the recession. Every job wanted a bachelors. Then around 2017 when I was looking for a new job hard, yes everyone wanted a masters. There's plenty of corporate jobs out there that don't really require an education at all. Some are that simple for sure.

And the job listings make no sense. Entry/junior level job, 3-5 yrs experience, masters preferred is pretty damn typical in a job listing.

If corporations can give up that notion, it would change things a lot.

If people got a flat "per head" payment then there would be no disincentive to work and earn more money. As is earning $1 too much can leave you thousands of dollars worse off in terms of government benefits.

Also we spend a lot of money employing paper pushers to administrate all of the different programs.

If we paid "per head", had single payer healthcare [not necessarily "free" to the end user], and served actually nutritious high quality free meals in the schools for all children I think a lot of things in this country would get much better.

There would no longer be an incentive to NOT marry the parent of your child [more government money] or to have MORE children [more government money] or to work FEWER hours [more government money].

Employers wouldn't be burdened with the cost of health insurance which would be a huge boon to small employers in particular. Employees wouldn't be tied to work because they need the health insurance [more entrepreneurs, more people able to retire].

I know that most miscer see UBI [or negative income tax] and single payer as anti-capitalist, but I sincerely think that the actual outcome would be positive.
Agreed. Well said.

I think people are waking up to the scam that is full time employment.

99% of us slave away just to barely get by, as the rich get richer.

Our lives were not meant to be spent "working." There are hundreds of studies that prove it.

Enough to eat and a place to stay plus free time to be spent exploring our world >>>>> 40 hr work week to make 40k. Your quality of life literally goes down being full time employed, regardless of salary.

100% srs post.
