what is the MISC opinion on the US pullling out of AFGHAN yet you see on the news

how terrible it is within just days?

we went to war there for how many years? the longest in US history?

we pull out. what objectives were accomplished?

Im guessing all this media garbage is just going to be used as an excuse for us to go back in and be there for another 16 years.

are the American people really this stupid?

We lost the war, which I never expected to win. Insurgency just works that way.

The way it went down was a gigantic disaster. Didn't evacuate civilians first, knew they would overun the country yet didn't destroy weapons, 13 marines needlessly sacrificed. This makes an abortion clinic look good.

What part of "I'm proud of Biden for getting us out" equaled "this pull out was conducted competently"...

Your response to "a completely avoidable tragedy if the sitting potus was fit for duty - which clearly he is not" being "You wanted us to stay in Afghanistan?". If you feel this pull out wasn't conducted competently then you would, in all likelihood, agree with "a completely avoidable tragedy". You didn't and instead offered a tired strawman rebuttle.

Tons of objectives were accomplished. Namely, massive profits were made for military contractors and the giant defense machine. Plenty of politicians and high ranking officers secured future million dollar+ salary jobs from these contractors upon retirement.

People don't seem to connect the dots. The fact that Afghanistan fell so quickly to the Taliban tells you: the effort needed to build this country in a way America deemed "acceptable", would take more than a year. More than 5. More than 10. It would be a lifetime. No matter what there would be bloodshed.

Afghanistan really shouldn't be one country, it should honestly be separated. The whole country is tribal-based. There is no national ideology.

What is so hard to understand? People living outside Kabul probably don't even know what the **** that city even looks like, or have even been. Was the withdrawal executed perfect? Hell no. But people that say, "we should still be in there!" don't seem to understand we were never going to succeed in completely changing the country.

This is true, but the withdrawal could have been executed 10000x times better. I don't think really anybody actually wants us to stay.

The way Biden pulled out is not popular and lives were lost. Do you really think he's going to send troops back in?

Trump said all the way back in 2017 it would be a mistake to just pull out and leave a vacuum. Which is exactly what Biden ended up doing.

Maybe the vacuum was unavoidable, but Biden should have known not to leave any citizens there.
