I just expected them to do something a bit more... special and comfortable, like a more luxurious GT take on a Lambo.

Nice man, how'd you become so well off financially? I repped you (don't repeat what I said in here).
It's tough... I love Lamborghini, but it's an SUV and the fact that it's trying to look so fast as an SUV.. I don't know. I just don't know that it's worth the money. For speed, I'd get a car.

I am in complete agreement with you that I'd rather have a car than a fast suv. But why not have both? Actually I have buddies that do, but I am not wired like that. I am too conservative. Even though I could afford it, I wouldnt put that much cash in depreciating assets.
This is my buddy. (srs) All his. I would not feel comfortable having this much out there on cars. Although he could cash out in todays current market to the tune of 600+ profit. I would have to sell....

AMAZED at what a vette can hold. I have trouble driving my Huracan to the track and hauling 2 helmets. There is not room for sh!t.

It is painful to see, but at least it can prop up these companies to keep making cars for people who can actually drive.

Since I am keeping the Urus overnight, they said they can park my car on the show room floor. I am going to chat with them about possible allocation of something coming down the line. SVJs are sold out, and there are too many around here. SRS, I have like 6 buddies with SVJ's. Have a few friends with STO, and I am not convinced the sto is the car for me. But interested in just seeing what they have to say.
This is my H. I really enjoy the car. It is modified. Putting out about 860hp. VERY fun car to drive.
Had to post the vid of my son spinning it out in turn 1 coming off a 140mph straight. I will hold that against him for a looong time

Picked this up this morning. Had to come home to sort some stuff out, but going to go for some driving later.
This thing will definitely MOVE. VERY strange feeling to hit the gas and have an SUV move like this.

But my experiences in life have proven to me that 'bad' things are only a perspective. The 'worst' things in my life to happen to me have been some of the greatest gift. Almost getting killed, broken neck, brain injury was the BEST thing that ever happened to me in my life. Never once did I wake up a day and say 'why me'.
The biggest thing I hope people take away and I am serious. Is the money is last on the list. It is fun, and it can provide fun distractions, but it is nothing to build a life around. And the chase of it early in my life would have consumed me if I did not get the perspective shift. I am happy with a lot less these days and enjoy simpler life. It is cool that I can play with some fun stuff, but it does not define me.
To the dude above who said he would drive for status, that is not a way through life. I would be just as happy to hop in my KIA sorrento and I dont feel any less of myself when I drive it. Let your definition of yourself come from YOU not the crap others try to distract themselves with. Guess that is part of why I love training so much. I am only accountable to myself. My failures are my own along with my victories.
Fuk others and their judgements. Life is good.

I've "made it", but live well below my means. My wife is happy in her Kia Telluride and I'm blessed to not have someone who craves the attention of a G-Wagon or something just because we can "afford" it. Hell, I still have my first dream car - a Pontiac Grand prix with 240k on the clock that I daily drive. I want for nothing except for my kids to succeed in whatever they want to do with their lives
Funny you mention G-wagen. Had one of the first 50 in this country in 2003. No one knew what they were. Except then all the rappers got them and car got probably the most amount of attention of any car I have had .(during that timeframe). Now they are very common, but when they first started importing them, there were very few around.
Had nothing but issues with it. Got rid of it as soon as it went out of warranty!

OK...>So my thoughts so far the Urus. I love it and I hate it. This is so strange to drive. I am past the point where I am calling it a re-badged audi. The interior feels very familiar and they carried over so much of the Lamborghini feel. The tune of the motor obviously is vastly different. I cant help but drive in Corsa, but when I took my wife to lunch I just did drive in normal mode. A switch to sport or corsa, and the crackles and pops of the exhaust on down shift come to life.
I could see a nice valved exhaust aftermarket would really wake the car up. The stock exhaust is valved, but a more aggressive sound in sport and corsa would be nice.
Switching the modes does more than just sound switching. Ride height, dampening and many other aspects of driving are altered. It is almost like there are 3 distinct personalities to the car. Actually there are 6 but I did not try any of the off-road modes. Sand/dirt and mud/Ice and snow.
The trans is not quite as responsive as a dual clutch. That might be the biggest thing I notice driving in corsa is that slight delay which is not there in a DCT.
So what I love. I sometimes forget that I am driving a SUV, and feel like I am driving a sports car. And this blows my mind. A rush at every corner and opportunity to accelerate AND brake just as quickly.
What I hate. I sometimes forget that I am driving a SUV, and feel like I am driving a sports car. And of course no one expects it to be on par with a Huracan, but just for a minute I think I am there and want that touch more.
I think the latter is an extreme compliment to the platform. What vehicle can fool you into thinking your 5 passenger SUV is a supercar. Well...this on can!
VERY cool..
