I read that as "Anus" for some reason. And I wouldn't mind trying a Lamborghini Anus.

Upon talking with my guy today, I was telling him where I was and what I wanted to do, and he said we could discuss an allocation and custom build. Again....not sure it is for me, but I am happy to listen to what he has to say.grats bro

But I like cars like Mercedes, Lexus etc. Buying really expensive cars(over 100k) just seems super wasteful to me.

GET READY FOR LONG POST.>>>>> All the questions about 'what do you do' or 'how did you get to where you are', I will touch on that.
So, being self employed my entire life, I have always had to look for the path forward that suited me best. In the early years, I made many bad decisions. Over time I have learned to trust my gut. Playing without a safety net is not easy, and I have just had to have the confidence that I could find my way.
Through ups and down, I have had to use my judgment. You are right, tying up 300 or 200 in a car is stupid.
When I look at things, I always try to find the angle. I have been doing the 'car hack' thing for a while. I have never watched that dude, but I know how to find value. Basically over the last 3 cars I have bought them and made money on each one and got to enjoy them. Because of this crazy market, I am in the green about 50-60k on my current car. Again, really a market no one could have predicted.
So...how did I come to where I would tie up that kind of money in cars.
Two reasons.
1-COVID hit and life is fukin short. I have a young son and I said 'fuk it'. My wife fully supported it and was happy that I wanted to do something for myself. I always worry and do for everyone and I wont even buy myself a pair of sneakers if they are over $50. I just dong like spending money on myself. I had a gallardo spyder, and then a great 'deal' came up for what was my dream car and I had to take advantage of it. So at one time I had 2 lambos. I knew I could sell my spyder pretty easily, which I did about month later netting 12k and I put 3k miles on it.

2- There was no better place to put the money in the current economy. When the major COVID retraction happend, I put a bunch of cash in the market. I was and am as exposed as I want to be in an uncertain market moving forward. Realestate was too expansive to buy more rentals. I looked at where we were and zero debt, and our real-estate holdings had appreciated almost 2.2 in the past 6-7 years. I took the cash I had on hand and bought a a couple hundred k in crypto, increasing my crypto reserves. Hodler since 2013. The rest I said, fuk it and bought cars.
As it turns out, I am about plus 50k on my blue car and I recently bought a Lotus as a track car and I am about +20k on it. There are great advantages to having cash ready when it comes to buying things since you can strike quickly and close deals.
So that is it. Yes, it is really fukin stupid to buy expensive cars like this. But I have zero debt, rental income that pays all our expanses, I have a separate business that is just me and I design custom homes for clients and builder. That is just 'play money' and what I used to buy the cars. I have worked my butt off this past couple years and had a bunch of cash with nothing better to do with it.... Guess that is the short answer.

Returned Urus and there was a planned event at the lambo dealer. Super nice weather and good time. They parked me right in the front middle. (blue car).
So talking with sales manager they are working numbers for me. The STO is sold out until 2023. They are all built to custom spec. One came available that the owner could not take delivery. They offered it to me. Working numbers on it now, and will have them Monday. Currently they are selling for about 200k over sticker. I know the dealership has been offered 100 over. But they like keeping cars local so I will see what they do. I cant see even paying 100 over. But I dont know what they will do.
One VERY interesting thing is they said if this does not workout, they might offer me an allocation and I can custom spec the car. They are all custom built and you can customize just about anything on the car. I think the latter might be the best route, since you then get the car at MSRP or very close. But I will wait and see what their numbers are.
The STO will be the last of the non-hybrid cars and the STO is essentially a track car that is street legal. Really amazing car. Interesting day for sure.
