it's long, but I think worth a watch and mildly entertaining. I just have it in the background at work or when playing other games. A lot of nice neat little tricks/tidbits, some stuff I didn't even know. Problem is, there's a lot of guides and videos with end game builds, items, etc. But there's a lack of videos showing how to level, what builds you should go before end-game, what item modifiers are valuable and just a lot of tips in general.

Not done watching and he has nightmare/hell vids so some cliffs so far, specifically for Sorc

- pump all stats into vit, maybe some into energy as needed, only enough str/dex to equip gear
- resists except poison, +life +mana, mana leech/recovery/on kill, faster cast, fast hit recovery, + to skills, magic find are priority stats
- poison resist, defense, str/dex, attack speed, block rate, attack rating stamina generally not useful
- teleport/static field on bosses OP
- start off with lightning/fire builds initially, can respec into cold later if you want to be a Blizzsorc
- specific rune words like stealth can be helpful as a low level, or socketing items with magic find, health, mana gems
- keep lots of health/mana potions
You can reset your characters skill tree 3 times... No longer hard to level that bitch.

Yep. That forum has me legitimately worried. They are trying really fuking hard to ruin the game. So far, they have responded on twitter that they aren’t doing personal loot but they’ve also said they have discussed it. If they cave, you just know that they’ll be demanding increased drop rates next.

it never really was that difficult to level your character through the early and mid-game, there's just a more optimal way of doing it and a less optimal way of doing it. the resets are great to have for that stage of the game, i.e: if you want an end game cold sorc build but levelling up faster and more optimally you'd probably want a fire sorc initially

Whats the issue with leaving everything exactly as diablo 2 left it? Why change anything? That completely defeats the purpose!

Its slowly looking more and more like grim dawn's diablo 2 mod is the way to go.

why not change anything if it is what the customers/consumers want or approve of? For the most part it's the same game aside from graphics and a few QoL changes that don't drastically change the game in any meaningful way. But over time there will likely be other changes that include skill/balance patches or potentially additional content as people realize they are just playing a skinned version of the same game over and over again unless they can meaningfully push the ladder aspect.

I doubt it. This isn’t a subscription based game. Its a one and done remaster of a 20 year old game. They’ll initially fix bugs and keep the ladders rolling but I doubt they are going to keep supporting the game with patches and massive changes over time.

you never know, I think if there is enough of a community and demand for it blizzard might actually do it. Difference between now and back then there are alot of people streaming the game and it can bring even more people if they update the game. Doesn't have to be big updates, but maybe after every ladder season they can tweak stuff, or just constant and small updates. considering Blizzard has been taking many Ls of late, who knows what is gonna happen with Diablo IV, ofc WoW gonna wow. I think it's an opportunity for them to build back some reputation, or possibly phuck it up. Either or. It's a one and done deal but if it can bring even more exposure even beyond just Diablo itself it could be worthwhile for them.

There is a lot of demand for them to not do it as well. The biggest d2 streamer is against stuff like personal loot.

i tried blizz sorc + hammerdin on single player w/ plugy last week. it's fairly easy to find good gear for budget builds. spirit crystal sword & shield are a crazy combination if you don't have more expensive gear, and they're very cheap to make. i don't remember amn rune dropping so frequently last time i played the d2lod (i left around patch 1.11). the more expensive runes are still very difficult to come by.

yeah i got some budget stuff, there's some really good runewords that can sorta carry you through hell and at the very least allow you to farm some places okay. I have stealth for my armor, lore for my helmet and ancients pledge for my shield. found string of ears on a nightmare mephisto drop which was a bit of a surprise. got some rare boots with run/walk speed, resists and FHR. I did find a lem rune (20 I think), I might use for something. expensive runes are stupid rare, literally have to do a thousand runs and even then you might not get a decent high rune.
