Well, is this line of thinking all that unbelievable:

1. He commits the crime goes home not sure what to do and lawyers up.

2. The more time he has to calm down and think about things at home, the more he realizes even with the lawyer he’s gonna be screwed.

3. He decides instead of defending himself go go on the run, uses his parents to buy him some time, and takes off last Tuesday with a head start. Makes up a story and ditches a car near the wildlife preserve as misdirection knowing it will be difficult to search the the reserve to locate him. In essence, buying himself even more time once they find out he’s gone.



All of that seems pretty likely to me. Like I said he’s not special ops or some criminal mastermind. Running probably wasn’t his first thought, or even first choice. But the longer he had to think the more he probably realized it’s his only bet.

It helped that he had an extended amount of time before any missing report was filed and then longer to find her body.

If these had happened more swiftly he may have been stuck with the lawyer and pleading the 5th as they detained him.

But he did get lots of extra time, enough to give him time to create some kind of an exit plan and now he’s trying to execute it.



Not really that hard to figure out. He’s not out there committing suicide guys lol. And he’s likely not anywhere near that ****ing preserve

What an absolute autist her boyfriend turned out to be. Thinks he can just drive back home in her van without her and everything would be cool? Lol. Once we find out cause of death we'll know for sure his involvement, if it turns out he murdered her, his parents are POS.

I had a feeling she was dead and there was some degree of negligence on his part, otherwise he would have called a search party, and his family also. The fact they kept quiet means some guilt of some kind.

We can rule out the getting lost/separated because they were in a heavily trafficked area (relatively speaking), can rule out the cliff falling since they were on flat plains. It could have been a medical incident she had and his failure to revive her. Or she could have fell into the river and drowned and he couldn't save her. Or he could have lost it in an argument and just choked her. We have to wait for the autopsy.

The fact they are having trouble identifying her, means her body degraded quickly, which points to being wet, possibly fell and drowned in that nearby creek. Whereas dry weather would mummify/preserve the body.

Honestly if anyone in my family murdered someone I’d help them every step of the way.

Not joking. F*ck the rest of you. I’d rather knowingly make myself an accomplice to my parents or my brother over turning them in to “do the right thing”.

F*ck that. It may be a terrible thing they did but at the end of the day I know deep down who they are and I’m not interested in seeing 1 bad mistake ruin their lives if I can do anything about it.

I personally don’t hate his parents one bit. They did what any good parents would do imo. Don’t care what others think about it.

Living nomadic in the states likely boosted his confidence he can still live nomadic elsewhere. Granted without a vehicle and being in a foreign country will add increasing difficulties. However he's had enough time to accumulate enough cash to buy fake documents once he hops over the border, so he can get odd jobs and start doing something more permanent till he gets far south enough. Credit cards would give his location away.

Really enjoyed reading through some of the most ignorant replies humanly possible ITT. Genuinely appreciate the complete lack of any logical thought process bordering on psychosis. The bottom line is that her fiancée is one-hundred percent responsible. If you love someone you don't give up looking for them. He is the man, he is responsible for taking care of her. In this case, the van was recorded by sheer happenstance where her body has now been found. That tells me enough. He didn't expect to be seen there. In any case, he is responsible for her death and it won't be long now.

I was thinking the same. Parents probably didn't say anything as they were in shock and understood the guy wants to off himself rather than spending the next 20 years in jail. Or they made peace with his decision to end himself in the preserve. Why get a lawyer though if this was the case?
