Basically in his situation you have two options: Run the gamble of hoping that there isn't quite enough evidence to convince the entire jury, or just realize that you fuked up and did leave enough evidence and just off yourself.

Them finding the body makes it a lot harder for him to mount a defense. I'd just off myself.

The girl was 22 years old and was actually hitting him so he left her.

No but I could see how losing your soon-wife-to-be and then having all the police, family, friends and public turn on you might make a person try to disappear.

That's a logical possibility that most seem to dismiss. An ABC reporter said the area they found her in is teeming with bear tracks and that the coroner's office is making multiple trips - he presumed it was in order to find pieces of her carcass in multiple locations. Just speculation though.

How you end up killing someone? Had to be the drugs.

He's so incredibly stupid. Did he even try to get away with this? The body was literally 275m from the road/track

If he was intent on that body never being found he should've transported it to another state or something. He literally saw cars pass from the road. Should've never assumed they'd never remember/record - take no chances.

Mfer could've taken the body to the everglades

So he leaves his parents car at the T. Mabry Carlton reserve and is now likely in Baker County FL?? That's roughly 250 miles, on foot and nobody sees this guy? If that's the case he'd be using the 301 for direction...Never been to FL, is this even possible FL peeps?

no one goes to jail for domestic violence

she goes missing and he returns home without reporting her missing

her body is found near where the van was on the side of the road

it's confirmed homicide, someone killed her

This guy is so dumb. Like next level retarded, so I'm not surprised he's a libtwat. Assuming he killed her (sorry brahs, still believe in "innocent until PROVEN guilty"), he should have drove straight to Mexico, ditched the van somewhere, and lived incognito before the police picked up that Gabby was missing. The only trace they'd have of him is that they'd know he probably went to the border if he used a passport or paid for stuff via CC/withdrew from ATMs. Outside of that, he'd be so far ahead and in a different country that it'd be hard as chit for cops to find him. I'd just keep a gun with 1 bullet in case I did get found w/ me at all times so I could finish myself and not go to prison.
