Oh look, a “poor me” and “evil capitalists” thread.

The thing you will never understand that it isn’t just about the money. It’s about building some thing great. You should try it sometime and stop focusing on what other people have. Covetness will only lead to evil

If you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at liberals and socialists. They are responsible for the greatest disparity and wealth gap’s in democratic history.

If he is in fact genuinely passionate about/interested in the research he's doing then that's pretty wholesome.

Spirituality is dead, vanity and consumerism killed it. I'm not talking about specific religions, but we humans are meant to do and experience more than just endless consumption of everything, including the planets and ourselves. We used to have a more profound connection and beliefes with earth and the various planes of existence. Now we only have a bunch of soycucks manchildren consuming toys and comics/sports like retards, this includes both leftists and rightwingers you're all totally lost and alienated.

Yes the loss of spirituality has been and ongoing process, but it has increased exponentially during the last centuries due to consumerism and capitalism.

At a certain point it just becomes ego/scorecard.

Bernie Madoff was a phuckin billionaire before he ever started a Ponzi scheme. What did he need more money for? He chilled with other NYC billionaires, his hedonic treadmill got adjusted to thinking he was the "poor" billionaire, his ego told him he had to catch up, and he had low enough empathy that he really didn't care who he screwed over doing it.

The money itself didn't matter, it was all just sociopathic dik measuring.

Mackenzie Bezos showed what happens when a normal person gets more money than they can ever spend. Jeff Bezos shows what happens when a psychopathic bald manlet gets more money than he can ever spend.

So a lack of law and order is the answer?

I’m all for dismantling the central government and reestablishing the sovereignty of the individual and the states. It would only be representatives of the states to form a union of representatives, but not a centralized government.

I can point out many things in history that have to do with the government that helped create materialism and wealth disparities, and it’s very apparent when we look at history that’s socialization by a central government, leads to far more materialism than consumerism.

One just has to study the categories of spending and simply look at the timeline of the values that Individuals had and you can pinpoint very specific events. It only takes one generation to show its affects. The problem with most debates is that they only consider a 5 to 10 year. And attempt to make the argument that it was good. When in fact, we must look at a generation before and after to make the comparison.

For an example, printing money actually increases the rate of the Pareto distribution. We can also see that groups that were targeted by social policy and great disparity changes between other groups before and after. It corrupts and creates a generation that won't work for anything.

Communism has its greatest downfall in a similar manner. THe lack of private property means no one cares about using up scarce resources with any regard to preservation. "It's not mine and I don't have to pay for it, so no care", which is part of the categories of spending; spending someone else's money on someone else, and spending someone elses money on yourself.
One party system; Most Republicans are Democrats, but no Democrats are Republicans.
Hayek and Mises were right; they're all socialists.

You're agreeing with a troll using communist ideologies for his basis of argument. Are you proud of yourself for that?

It has been proven that, although not perfect, capitalism and liberty is the most humane system ever created, but yet we are using examples of the effects of socialist policies within the US as an argument against capitalism. Do you see the irony and naivety of that?

$30,000 a year puts you in the 1% for the world. lol at 1% complaining about 1%ers. No perspective at all. Its the "haves and have somes". Perhaps anyone making over $10,000 a year should sacrice their pay to prove how virtuous they really are. Living life comfortably because of what the rich and private business owners provide for you. It's literally biting the hand that feeds you and gives you the nice life you have, because the alternative is socialism, which WILL put your pay in the 10k range while not hurting the elites.

again, socialism increases the disparity of rich and poor, and before sodalist ideals hit America, the gap was much smaller.

Spirituality is taught. It’s a cultural thing also. Family values, religion, all diminishing. Why? This was super accelerated in the last 50 or so years in the western culture.

Kids left their parent’s house soon they turn 18. No more going to religious or family events.

Fast forward, they have their own families and they wanna provide their kids with all the freedom and liberty. They were atleast forced to go while they were kids. Now their offspring don’t even see that. And it got worse. Really this happened the most in last two to three generations.

Some have remorse for not teaching their kids better but it’s too late.

And you're blessed to be able to have those things, thanks to capitalism. New cars, a nice house, internet, clean, running water, sewer, air conditioning, electricity, and the opportunity to have more.

Median age is about 38. Did you know that 75% of people pull themselves out of poverty by median age here in America? How? Because the "poor" demographic is mostly made up of the youth. This is why the youth are mostly responsible for dictators and socialism. They are voting based on their uneducated and inexperience and self worth. As we age, we become more and more conservatives because of our accomplishments and realizing it just took time and work.

So do you give up those opportunities and stay poor with socialism, or do you make the choice to take advantage of the opportunities with capitalism?

Most humane system ever created? That's great and all, but I feel a lot of you preaching capitalism will be eating your own worlds. The Industrial Revolution is what Capitalism truly is. These corporations don't care about liberty and humane, it's all about money.

Why are you bringing up the rest of the world? We can't take our $30,000/yr and live in any country we choose. Do you expect U.S. citizens to move overseas?

Rent near me is $1200 minimum, and it's not even a major city. Care to explain how any U.S. citizen is supposed to live off that?

I don't think so tbh because of the fact that he:

a) hates travelling to conferences where he can flex and sends his PhDs to present some ****

b) a lot of his work is materials engineer to make cars more environmentally friendly while not forcing big corp to change massively (****ty that this is how it must be but he plugged his **** into many car models)

c) his latest work is materials for medical devices

This mother****er wrote me a 9/10 reference and sent it at 3 AM because he also cares about the students who want to do good in the field. The only luxury thing he is buying is a cheap ass cabin in the woods with no electricity to read printed papers away from other people. He just really likes what he is researching. srs.

So do you give up those opportunities and stay poor with socialism, or do you make the choice to take advantage of the opportunities with capitalism?
agree with the overall sentiment but wealth inequality data for poverty adjusts for age, surely, as it is normal for fresh outta mom n pop house broke college students to left-skew the graphs lol

AFAIK, societies like those still thrive on the free market - they have markets with currencies etc. The free market is as old as humans. That and consumerism are two distinct things. I live in Western Europe but I have detached myself from social media and the need to buy excessive stuff than the bare minimum to be functional.

Now just don't tell me what they fight each other to death for food weekly.

Edit: Bro, Latin America is a free market where you have to work to eat. Off-grid grow-it-yourself is just as available in the USA as in Mexico. A lot more people in Mexico are victims of violence and poverty that is unthinkable in the USA.

$30k doesn't afford a nice house or used car.
