Because they are cool. So far I've only shot a boar(Tikka T3) and coyotes(AR-15), I intend to shoot deer, duck and have far off dreams of taking an elk. These creatures for the most part all require different guns. You aren't gonna go varmint hunting with the same gun you intend to use on an ELK. Despite the overwhelming power the media spouts about the AR-15, it simply isn't sufficent to humanely kill anything larger than a deer. So I am currently also in the market for a larger caliber to maybe one day fulfill my elk hunting dreams, as my Tikka T3 in .308 is borderline not enough, So I am eyeballing some 300 winchester magnums.
When it comes to personal protection and recreation there are alot of options as well. My current favorite range handgun is my Glock 40, I also have a P226 and P227 cuz I am kind of a Sig Sauer fan boy and really liked the show Burn Notice when I bought them. Non of these are small enough for conceal carry, so I have an M&P Shield as I intend to get a conceal carry permit one day.
Those are the only ones I could really justify a point or reason for owning, but it's not really about that. All the reason I really need to justify my gun purchases is "I want that". It's like a car, why get a tahoe that seats 8 when you only have 1 kid, why have 450+ horsepower if you aren't gonna take your car to 150mph, like what's the point.

But I love me some guns. I think responsible gun ownership is fundamental for the US.
Responsible people can and should own as many guns as they want. Responsible people can and should be able to buy cars with big ass engines if they want. Responsible people can and should get breast augmentation as big or small as they want. See the trend?
Fuark I really love this country sometimes.

There are an estimated 300,000 - 3,000,000 self defense uses of guns in the U.S. each year.
If you remove the top 5 cities from the stats then the rest of the U.S. despite having 400,000,000 guns has similar gun murder rates as many European countries that have almost no guns.
After years of making fun of "Prepper's" most of the country got a huge shock in Spring of 2020 when it was hard to find supplies. And only 1 year later we're back to making fun of people who are prepared.
That's all that needs to be said.

The 2A is an illusion of a safety net. The only reason I support it is as BigTimeOperator pointed out: I'd rather have it and not need it... I could live with knowing that I'm either dying or going to prison with the freedom to make a final stand. I can't live with the idea that I'm going to be enslaved without even the means to resist.
The reality is any attempt to use the 2A for its intended purpose would be squashed before any attempt ever got off the ground.Even if you could get it a foot off the ground, just realize you'll be a traitor and history will forget you and then your movement will be crushed.
The only reason our forefathers succeeded was because of the ocean between them and King George and the lack of technology, i.e. - British intel, at the the time. Place the original signatories of the Declaration in 2021 and they'd never even have their first meeting on the matter.

Before that what did we do? Vietnam where a bunch of impoverished uneducated farmers defeated the Americans. Just lol @ thinking the American military can defeat an armed public, it hasn't happened and it always ends with the American military being embarrassed.

People should have the freedom to defend themselves and also do what they want so long as it doesn't hurt others.
I get a lot of push back from people on it. People that have little information about firearms want to inject their opinions on it.
It's hard to break things down for people though. They think that most mass shootings are caused by AR-15s (they're not) and they believe that constitutional carry causes MORE violence or the average citizen can own a machine. It's just a plethora of misnomers and ignorance surrounding gun laws and firearms as tools it just gets exhausting to try to counter.

I will applaud your trolling efforts.. however..
The point of owning multiple guns... is because I can first & foremost.
Also at this point I am looking at anything AR as an investment. The gUveRnmEnt will never stop coming after our guns , they will continue to violate my 2nd amendment rights just a little bit at a time. So one of these days me having a ... Plethora... of guns will pay off.

At this point we all realize having a gun is just a handy way to escape clown world when need arises.

LMAO yeah the pay is so great let me tell you. Also, there is a lot, and I mean a whole lot of hatred for politicians and higher brass. There is a saying that once an officer gets to the rank over Captain you are dealing with a politician. They really don't like people like Joe Biden with his Fortunate Son Hunter. Also, moral clauses. Our troops don't do that top down micromanagement.
