1990s, sunny summer day, run out of the house without a phone, keys, nothing but your excitement. Jump on the bike and go off on yet another carefree adventure.

I'm most likely biased due to this experience really representing that whimsical magical childlike innocence but that was peak existence for me.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*

Also the music…. Damn I miss hearing all those great bands putting out new albums. There was a steady stream of great releases year around because there were so many good bands at the time. Ever since rap has become the youths anthems society has gotten worse. I absolutely hate rap and all it’s cringy-ness.

Whatever year that you grew up in/had memories in=the "best"/"peak" etc....it varies person by personal depending on your birth year...

This isn't new, everyone has personal biased towards XXXXs cause they think it was good as they grew up in or around it. Which is ok, you are allowed to enjoy and mark out for whatever era you like!

Majority of the 1960s though to current day entertainment is similar in structure in terms of music, movies TV & pop culture anyway.

Social media sucks, but it's truly smartphones that dropped the bombs.

Smartphones allowed 24/7 access to social media and the internet. Pictures, degen dating, narcissism, etc. That's ground zero. Now every retard has access and can speak their option as fact.

Remove smartphones and people could only interact on a PC at home.

Why are you blaming rap? Rap was great in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. House music used to have sloots running to the floor and shaking their butt on the nearest Chad/Tyrone. You should be grateful for that. Can you imagine Sirmixalot back in the 80s?

I think simply deeming one era as "peak" is a little too vague

If you're saying the 00's was peak era for partying, living a bachelor life, having access to technology but not the toxic social media and cancel culture like today, then I'd agree 100% (90s, 80's,70's were good for this too though)


However if we are talking about more wholesome/family aspects of life then I'd argue that the early 1800's was peak time for men

This is a time where men were still valued and society hadn't started subsidizing the "independence" of women

If you were a strong capable man who put in the time to work and were able to provide for a family you would be able to marry a virgin (who was trained from a young age how to please a man)

And this woman would live a happy life because she was fulfilling her natural desire to have a family. She wasn't driven to depression/anxiety by staring at her phone all day, looking at unrealistic celebrity lifestyles and what other sloots were doing with their yolo degenerate lives

Thanks goodness we still have an alternative radio station in my area, as they have a great playlist when I get sick of mine. They play a lot of 90s and early 2000s music, too, as well as new bands. It's nice to hear people play real instruments.

The rock radio station in my area turned into classic rock, which isn't the same.

I do think people are going to say a decade was the GOAT when they were teens or in college, because that's before we had to deal with jobs, mortgages and huge responsibilities. I obviously like grunge music because that's when I was in college.

There's a big difference comparing couple's in the 1960's to the 00's bud

If you break it down by generation basically the last generation to have the majority of marriages with a virgin bride was the world war generation or the "silent generation"

the baby boomers started the whole hippy movement which turned into a sexual revolution

this led to women having multiple partners before marriage and skyrocketing divorce rates

It’s a valid argument, but I guess it depends on what lifestyle you prefer. Both have their plus’s and minuses, but in my opinion, living a bachelor life is more fun than living a good “family life”. Just from the perspective that humans are naturally non-monogamous. With that said, in 00’s, if you were ready to have a family, you could still have a pretty good family life.

The other thing to consider is quality of life. People in the 1800’s died often of disease and infection. There was a big gap between the wealthy and the working class. A lot of people in this time period had a pretty rough life. Lots of things could still take them out and end their life early.

The 2000’s were the peak of society in that modern medicine, modern technology all reached the highest they could get to prior to culture taking a turn for the worse. Early 00’s had modern tech and strong culture. Now, we have even more evolved tech, but **** culture.

Also, just more evolved food, entertainment, sports, ect than the 1800’s. Quality of life on a graph should overall be fairly linear upwards over time just due to standard of living increases(with minor variations). I think the early 2000’s was just before that line started tipping down the other direction.

It’s kind of insane how quickly Hollywood fell after 2008. There was a select few funny movies(the hangover, hot tub time machine, 21 & over, and a few others, but they’ve just become so few and far between, and have been non-existent since about 2017.

Late 90’s - 2008 there were like 5 gold comedies per year.
