anyone here looked into ASIC mining?
it looks like you can buy a machine for $5k (Innosilicon A10/A11) or $10k (Bitmain S19) and return your money pretty quickly... I have a house with 220V and open space to set up a rig. Is there something I am missing here, or this really a profitable investment?

Saw a story about a guy that heats his house in the winter with his miners doesn't even need to turn the furnace now just the blower to circulate the air.
Can you actually buy one though? Figured they would be sold out with a 2 year wait list.

Like not being able to actually buy the latest ASICs, difficulty rate increasing significantly, etc. something that I am not taking into account... seems too good to be true. Like why would these companies sell the miners rather than building a company and setting them up in a warehouse and mining on their own? Something just seems sketchy, but I am willing to throw down $5-10k and try itGets a lot better when you can run it off renewable energy but yea could be a nice passive.

The Bitmain S19 has a 9 month payback period with residential electricity prices, presuming BTC prices stay where they are.
Hashrate is going up too so expect closer to a year payback period.
This doesn't cover transaction or pool fees either to cashout.
However, if you can hedge the mined coins daily with futures or borrowed coins to reduce btc transaction fees, use the waste heat to heat your home, it can be reasonably viable. Mining has always been a big risk though - but at least with the S19 the breakeven price is below $20k so it's not the end of the world.
Mining during a bull market has always been profitable, but you want to sell the miner to someone else while the price is high and get most\all of that hardware back and keep the free coins it mined.
Mining also has a tax advantage that is non-zero as well.

Looks like Tezos is finally getting some decent projects building on it. There's two DEXs; Smartlink (SMAK) and QuipuSwap (QUIPU).
QuipuSwap has much higher TVL ( currently 20 million, peak was over 40 million ). Volume has picked up significantly since September.
The total supply of QUIPU is 10,000,000. The price is currently around $2.80. Circulating supply is around 1 million from what I can see. That's put it at about 3 million marketcap for essentially the best DEX on the ranking 40 token in crypto.
Needless to say I'm buying a bag.
