I had to sell my home due to financial issues and have moved in with a great uncle. I'm saving money nicely, but afraid inflation will eat it up. I'm investing it but it'll only be a few years before I buy again, so want to keep it in something more stable.

With all the chit going on?
Judging by your join date you must be a boomer
Boomers these days are raising rent to astronomical levels for young people
Imagine all your money going to some fat boomer just so he can go on luxury vacations while you struggle to pay your bills and eat
You're so out of touch you piece of chit

Your definition of being grown up is stupid and based on nothing but arbitrary rules you’ve made up.
Pretty sure OP stated his friend has a successful career and owns a bunch of rental properties.
Is this person less grown up than someone who lives on their own, has no money and drinks every night?

The bro in OP was intelligent and rather than wasting all the money on rent, bills and sloots he invested it all into real estate in crypto and now has life on ezmode.Another pathetic misc thread justifying being a loser that lives with mommy and daddy till they're 30 and older?
You know what gets girls really wet? Saying, "Want to come back to my place, but you gotta be quiet because my parents are sleeping....."

You should only ever move out when you have paid the deposit on a house and have over $100k/year salary. In the past year if you lived with parents and put all your money you pay on "living alone" (presumably 80% of your paycheck) in crypto you'd be a multimillionaire.
What gets sloots wetter, your rental apartment or several paid off houses?

And the motto with some of you is pathetic. It's always someone else's fault.....

That said, the size of this home makes it easier to live with a lot of family, while maintaining privacy. That is important as well. If it were a small property, it would not work out.
