You do realize that Nvidia isn't going to scale up infinite.

Ask Intel how that went?

when I am talking about price action its just for today.

majority of market is red.

SPY / QQQ weighting has amzn/nvda/apple/msft etc if those names go red than spy will sell off more.

this is just today. profit taking/algo sell off / maybe some fed official said inflation somewhere etc.

by tmmrw hell end of day this quick sell off could be over.

Long story short, I've lost around $11k or so on RIVIAN total. Last week I went upside down $8.3k because I bought into it at $112.50 within 10 minutes of RIVN going public. Then day 1 it dipped into the $90's and I panic sold thinking I wasn't gonna get my money back. I also tried playing options this week on it, doing a call order that went terrible, going under about $3k or so.

Timing the market, for me, has been absolute chit.

Been feeling like absolute chit ever since, srs.

This week I bought NVIDIA Call Orders for Nov 19th, and although I unfortunately didn't sell at the top, I didn't do too bad. Bought 10 x Nov 19 $305 for $5800 total, sold for $14,870. Also bought some longer term (March 2023) calls that I flipped for around $1500 profit. And a short flip or two on some NVIDIA calls netting about $1k on top of all of that.

I sold my NVIDIA calls at a measely $14.87 due to panicking. The stock took a major plummet in the first few minutes of being open and I saw my options go from being worth $21 down to $13 within seconds. Scared the chit out of me. Should've held on for like 5 more minutes and I'd be seeing another $4k-$8k profit on top of that, phark.

So RIVN = $11kish in losses. NVIDIA = $11k-12kish in profits. Who would've thought attempting to time the market brings me to close to $0 in proft/losses? LOL

I currently have some NVIDIA shares in my portfolio as well that I don't plan on ever selling, at least not for some years, been buying NVIDIA shares slowly over the course of the year. Definitely made thousands off of those too in unrealized gains.

This is my first year trading so I'm trying not to be too hard on myself. Learning more and more about how everything works every day. This is more fun, but also more depressing sometimes too, than my actual job. Over the year my non-retirement brokerage account has gone from $200 to now $44k. Depositing $30k of my own money into that.

[img]https://i.imgur.comimg]
never ever and I mean ever buy fresh IPO and especially options, market maker were begging you to take rivn strikes.

nvdia option is good pick up granted it could have easily wrecked you to if they suppress the range and with decay ramp up.

I would slow way down for someone that has only traded 1 year in option buying size. it will not end well take this warning very srs.

with account of $40K your option buying should be no more than $1-2K because you will fall into trap of chasing losers and doubling down and eventually your account is dead.

there have been several posters here that traded options and got wrecked (that used to post last year and now gone). over confident / over trading / chasing losers / doubling down.

emotions will get you. if you treat options as casino it will wipe you.

No.

I sold the last 67% of my DKNG on 9/17 @ $59.60 and feel like rain man in hindsight.

they have reported declining revenue on the last 3 earnings and are bleeding out the angus. Avoid at all costs IMO.

THIS. sports books are fking everywhere. DKNG valuation insane when you compare to MGM who actually has casinos and hotels too in addition to their sports betting app.

This.

The valuation is absurd considering the 9 other wildly popular betting apps.
