Poor Justin's mom. First she has to endure him scaring the fuk out of her and then she had so suck the cop off to get him out of the ticket. Probably swallowed wishing she had done that a long time ago.

Funny how there's never a cop around when you need one, but the moment you want to show off what your boys toy can do to momma...flashing lights in your rears.

Like I said...life is good. We have been enjoying a lot of car stuff lately and since COVID, I have gone a little overboard with the car stuff. And what an amazing country that allows the freedom to be able to do things. I am very thankful. I made another thread about getting to share these things with my son. Earlier this week, I had my 14 year old out on the race track (driving) at Virginia International Raceway! We drive a lotus for our track car, but he has driven the lambo on the track also!

That's awesome man. I did something similar with my Mom when I got my Viper. Poor thing! She said she would never ride in my Ultima because of that but I'll always cherish the Viper video with her face of pure terror and me laughing.

.To me the funniest part of this is I am 48 years old and I dont swear in front of my mom. I say "oh shoot", and then my Mom drops "Oh sh!t"!. Too funny. We all had a good laugh about my grandmother, who is no longer living. But she used to swear all the time but was the sweetest woman ever. She taught me all the good italian swear words
. My mon has become just like my grandmother was to me. No filter at her age. My kids love her and having her here has been awesome! She knows me well, and I tend to be a person of extremes. So the car thing does not phase her at all.RAW lifts

1- carry as little personal debt as possible. Regardless of how you have to live or what you have to sacrifice, get out of debt as soon as you can. Depending on your income level, the only 'good' debt is a mortgage. But unless the write off benefits you, have the smallest mortgage you can. None being ideal but I understand that isnt possible for many. But with smart moves in a couple properties, you can get there. Being debt free is the largest freedom in life. I have not had a loan since the 90's and I realized very young that paying interest sucks you dry and makes others rich. By my mid 20's I figured out how to live without borrowing money. Never had a mortgage or loan since. I only buy things I can afford to buy. I totally get this wont work for many, so my point is buy and mortgage as little as possible.
2-invest in realestate. This is where debt is not necessarily 'bad' but may be necessary. But this is not really 'personal debt'. Rental homes were something I discovered later in life and while it may not be glamourous it is a great way to make stable income and have your assets grow. I dont know that I would do this in a "blue" state however with some of the crazy eviction protections they have granted people. Only do rentals in a county/state that asserts your rights as an owner should your tenants not pay.
I gave up quite a bit in my early years of life. While my friends were partying, I was working 6 days a week. I did things like living in an apartment in the south and never turning on the ac so I could save money. Sacrifice and consistency over time, just like the gym, is the key to success.
If you are not self-employed, you have to play their game to conform. But some things like financing will be easier for you. Use it to your advantage and be smart about it. But dont use it to buy a new car, etc.
Only buy things you dont need when you can buy them with extra CASH. NEVER finance anything other than 100% necessary and that possibly is only a mortgage.
With so many opportunities in this world, dont play by the rules of corporate america. Plot your OWN course though life. Never has the world been so accessible and take risks while you are young. Make contacts. It is PEOPLE that will make you successful. Give 100% and be willing to do ANYTHING, even things others wont consider. Someone will see this and give you a break.
Go find the guy who is self made. Ask to be his mentor. Tell him you will work for him for free for two months, and than after that he can decided if he wants to hire you. All you ask in return is he teach you about business. If the guy is truly self made, he will see an opportunity for himself also. I always try to help others and celebrate in their achievements. You would be amazed at how many successful people, self made, would love to share their knowledge. Just too many lazy, people all looking for handouts. I still am willing to work harder than anyone and do things others wont. I have to be that way. I will go clean 100 porta-jons with no gloves if it held some part of me doing what I had to. I have done much worse things. Just dont be afraid of work. Celebrate it and ask for the ball. Then run with it!
I am a college dropout. No degrees or initials after my name. I was just determined to make it. I have many friends, all self made in many fields. The cars have brought a lot of us together. This is a pic of one of our gatherings at a friends house. Yep...all those cars and people. Not one trust fund baby, not one ball player and no rappers. Just hard working people. Some minorities, some immigrants who came to this country fleeing civil wars and poverty, some everyday people like me. Super diverse background and everything from coffee shop owners, to aircraft parts supplier, to realtors, to custom gun manufacturers, online trainers, to finance guys...
Very different but so much in common...

One of the wishes I had was to take a ride with my mom with my racecar, by the time I got it done and working in proper order she was already pretty sick and wasnt in a shape to go for joy rides. Still think about what her reaction would be, enjoy the memory OP. Additionally, cant go into a parent reaction thread without posting the OG reaction video:

How do you feel about Dave Ramsey's advise? Some people on here hate him. How do you feel about using financing to build wealth? Bulls and bears strategies?
