Leaky vaccines are a theoretical concern for an evolutionary increase in virulence. Ironically, this is most problematic for unvaccinated individuals, not vaccinated. But there are a number of assumptions that need to be met for it to happen and the theoretical concern doesn’t outweigh the direct benefits of vaccination. Not even close.

Problem for unvaccinated?

What you mean is people with no prior natiral immunity & old/weak people

I’m saying that if higher virulence is selected for as a result of leaky vaccines, unvaccinated populations would incur the most damage.

what...

so a leaky vaccine that produces mutations resistant to vaccines antibodies, the people who had natural immunity are going to incur the most damage?

That is the exact opposite of making sense

this should have been clearly evident when people with natural immunity were better off than vaccinated people when Delta was peaking.

You’re confusing concepts. I’m talking about selective pressures from leaky vaccines that favor more inherently harmful variants. Different conversation than immune evasion. But I’m happy to have that talk too.

So should we isolate and quarantine the vaccinated to protect the unvaccinated?

Well that is just operating under a massive assumption that more terrible variants/mutations are going to happen which is a big IF.
I also dont see how that supports still using leaky vaccines that may not even work on those variants but only weaker ones.
Thats also operating under the belief that the stronger variant is even susceptible to a new vaccine and wont completley circumvent and ignore the antibodies someone has from a vaccine.
Thats also assuming that the person with natural immunity wont have the antibodies that can better fight off the more severe new variant than people who have 4 boosters.

WAY too many assumptions for things that have not happened yet to make any sort of action reasonable at this point beyond trying to make an actual real vaccine and not a crappy booster shot with tons of risk.

Mutations are random. Evolution is not. It’s not about what mutations happen, but which ones are selected for and increase in frequency. There are theoretical and empirical reasons to believe that leaky vaccines can create an environment that favors more exploitative variants. My point, however, is that this concern does not outweigh the direct and current benefits of vaccination.

The last sentence went from him having a decent intellectual conversation to just nonsense opinion.

That last sentence was my overall point. I don’t deny the plausible role leaky vaccines may have on increased virulence. I just don’t think that concern outweighs the current benefits.

thats 1 concern
add in the concern of myocarditis and heart issues
add in blood clots
add in neurological problems
add in avoiding getting natural immunity
add in having to get endless boosters
add in constantly and repeatedly spiking proteins
add in trusting the research being conducted as being objective and uncorrupt
add in trusting the doctors not being paid off by big pharma
add in my risk as a healthy person who takes immune supporting supplements religiously
add in the fact that most people die now from heart disease, not lung disease

then lets weight the cost benefit analysis

Argue the benefits of giving the vaccine to those that are in high risk categories, ok. No problem whatsoever with that population being offered, assuming full disclosure of side effects and risk, being given the choice.

There is no benefit that outweighs the risk of potential side effects or leaky vaccine mutations on the populace at large by mandating this experimental drug that requires multiple boosters to increase "effectiveness".

You’re regurgitating talking points. Even for healthy young adults, benefits of vaccination outweigh the (nearly negligible) costs. You’ll notice that when you restrict your evidence to peer reviewed research (not Twitter memes, raw data you don’t understand, or preprints) there is overwhelming support for their use in any cost-benefit analysis.

interesting considering I had covid and did not get the vaccine and when I had covid I had no symptoms other than taste and smell
because of competitive bodybuilding for years my heart is more at risk for an adverse event than most people

so its undeniably WAY more of a risk for me to take the vaccine, but your comfortable telling me its not even though it could lead to me dying and its already clear my immune system is fully capable of handling the covid virus?

I can also just as easily say everything you are saying is just talking points and there is no validity to any of it by the way, doesnt mean im right or you are right.

why the fukk wouldnt I when I already had Covid with no negative symptoms beyond taste and smell, which i actually enjoyed, and I have a higher risk of a cardiac event than the general public and the vaccine is known to cause myocarditis and highly elevated CRP which is indicative of systemic inflammation in the cardiovascular system?

Are you saying the printed warning by pfizer and moderna on their vaccines stating it causes myocarditis and blood clots is a lie?
