Is Halo infinite as good as people are saying it is?

Haven't gamed for the better part of like 5 years, but if this game is as good as people are saying it is then I might have to pick it up

Open world sandbox campaign. It's like if Far Cry merged with Halo, and you unlock new vehicles/weapons over time to widen your array of choices for what to use in upcoming missions. Grapple hook is great. The difficulty in this Halo feels less punishing compared to the prior Halo games though. There is no co-op campaign yet. No firefight/horde. No forge. Those things do take away from it a bit.

Yes. It's by far the best FPS of this era. After getting nothing but cucked COD and Battlefield games and some lame ass nerd chit, we finally got a GOAT shooter.

good game, my first halo and i've sinked like 100 hours into online almost.

some problems though...

-Hackers, already a huge amount of these. i'm guessing the people that say there aren't any aren't in Onyx so yeah, they never see them. Easy to spot in game and in theatre though. BIGGEST ISSUE IN THE GAME RIGHT NOW. People are too braindead to even realise when someone is hacking too. It's way too easy to hide walls as well so most good hackers won't even be caught. You had people hacking in tournaments like CoD that were literally never caught.

-Hit detection is dog in this game. Possibly one of the worst out of any of the big multiplayer games. There are times where you have your reticle on someone and the hits just won't register. I've even slowed this down after recording gameplay to confirm.

-Melee is bugged as **** and almost every time you go close to someone it's a melee trade even though you obviously punched first

-Ping issues, even if you have good ping it seems like people with 150+ ping gain some sort of advantage sometimes cos of lag compensation. I've had 250+ ping and gotten kills I should never get.

-Aim assist bug, you lose aim assist sometimes. Idk if this is a feature or what but sometimes your aim will just go completely janky.

-Aim assist too strong. Yes, sometimes it's too strong.

-Personal gripe but I'm not a fan of double nades in ranked. People seems to throw them with no care and you can just get blown up by teammates or spawn on a nade. But maybe I'm just being biased because of my playstyle.

-Spawns are **** tier sometimes. I'll spawn on top of a nade or right in front of someone.

Overall good fun though. There's definitely a Halo skill to learn and I feel like you really get rewarded for getting better at each individual aspect of the game. Ranked games are competitive, good maps, good game modes and the gameplay is generally smooth. I give it a 7/10.

Soibois on social media need to stop complaining about the ****ing cosmetics and get onto 343 about a proper anti cheat though.

The progression/armor unlocking system would probably bug the **** out of me, that was a huge part of why halo reach was so fun for me

Waiting for the popularity to settle before I bite

People were really excited about the DOOM DLCs but after a bit they started saying the story sucked

Really close to unseating DOOM Eternal as my fav single player shooter. If it had glory kills/ finishers/ assassinations it definitely would have but unfortunately has none :c

Multiplayer is smooth, hackers true but I haven’t played a recent game that doesn’t have them. I could see myself playing this long term and I haven’t done that since BF4

Campaign is good. Solid character interplay. Story gets a little crazy but it lines up with some of the craziness from the previous games. You need to be deep in the lore to make decent sense of it. It’s clearly set up for multiple DLC’s, but it’s a solid campaign with 14 missions plus all the open world stuff. Lots of stuff to find if you’re into that, and not all side objectives are on the map (you have to find a ton of them by exploration only). Probably in my top twenty all time games, and top 10 of the last decade for sure. It’s not perfect but it’s better than most.

true, but part of the replayability of reach was putting blood sweat and tears in to earn those sick armor pieces.

somehow it doesn't feel the same if some kid can just charge their parents credit card to immediately get some stuff you've been busting your ass for

i guess that's just the nature of video games these days though

It’s included with gamepass Xbox or PC. PC is $1 for the first month last I checked. My biggest gripe is a lot of the back story is explained in data logs you collect, but it’s not game breaking.

Only bugs I’ve personally experienced is banshees and phantoms just randomly disappearing in air battles.

I'm pissed there's no co-op campaign yet or split screen. Split screen is the whole reason I bought the game, wtf.

It's excellent, i've only played about 5-6 hours of the campaign so far but it's the best game i've played for years.

I've played every halo game (except halo wars) on release and so far it's up there with the best.

Halo wars 2 is probably required to understand the banished. Maybe watch the cutscenes?
