As much as I *want* to think the shooter will face no charges, it's unlikely. The thug attacking someone is one thing, but literally just trying to grab cash doesn't justify lethal force. I want it to be the case, but it's not. I might be wrong, the shooter isn't white so he may get off. I'll be paying attention to this for sure.

Are we sure that picture is of this guy? That doesn't look like a handgun wound. Only way I could see it is if he literally put the barrel in his mouth and the gas expansion might have caused additional damage.

Also, screw the robber, and Asian guy should face no charges.

The place looks very similar and the timing adds up, but the employee statements dont match up. Read through a couple articles and a couple things stand out compared to the video:

"The employee told police three men had entered and demanded money from the cash register, which she told them she couldn’t open because she needed a code."
It looks like the suspect placed an order, had cash, and waited for her to open the register to process the transaction and then swoop on the open till

Other employees said one of the men tried to reach over the counter and then began choking the woman
Definitely didn't happen

prompting her son to pull out a handgun from underneath the counter
Also didn't happen


According to investigators, three men demanded money from the store clerk, but she did not have the code to open the register. One of the men allegedly slammed the cash drawer on the ground,

That's what I'm saying. Are we sure that picture is of this guy? That doesn't look like a handgun wound. Only way I could see it is if he literally put the barrel in his mouth and the gas expansion might have caused additional damage. And that doesn't look like an entry wound, let alone a handgun entry wound. Not sure what caliber the gun was, but still.

Also, screw the robber, and Asian guy should face no charges.

He apparently got up and run to the subway station. They followed a trail of blood. He was also involved in an attempted armed robbery of a CVS only 5 minutes prior, he had 2 accomplices that were probably with him in the restaurant.

"The man fled the store, leaving a trail of blood that police followed roughly two city blocks to a SEPTA station on Spring Garden Street where the man was found. He was rushed to Jefferson Hospital in critical condition. "

Seems like the media were reporting on initial statements though which is why every news agency reported something a bit different. I can't find anything recent. This is going to be a very interesting case if it goes to trial.

FYI the definition is “reasonable belief that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm”.
