Don't Eat Junk. You Are Literally Aging/Killing Yourself

I'm a pretty high level athlete. Playing in Vball leagues with University teams etc. When I used to be a college athlete, I could eat whatever I wanted and perform.

Now at 40, I really notice what you can and cannot eat. Joints hurt, movements sluggish, no power, back hurts, head hurts. FUARRRRKkkkkkkkkkk

Yesterday I was balling out. Absolutely murdered and I was loud af too. just on a high. Guess what? I ate bone broth, bananas, eggs and rice before the game. The day before the game, steak cooked in bone fat, eggs, bananas. Felt like I was 21. 0 pain. jumping high af.

After yesterday's game, me and some of the players went to eat at this greek restaurant. Huge portion of souvlaki dinner with potatos, NAAN(wheat), and dairy.

Today I'm feeling it. Head hurting. Spirit down. Back hurting. I feel like I got poisoned. My body is super stressed. For me personally, I can't do wheat, potatoes or dairy for some reason. AYyyyy.

How you feel comes from the inside/brain. Eating right is just placebo.

I'm close to your age and can eat all of those things just fine (though I don't generally consume much of those things - besides sometimes potatoes).

ya do you participate in explosive sports at a high level? that involves a lot of jumping and hitting?

it's important. because that is how you tell the difference between premium and regular fuel in the engine.

I have been eating junk and drinking way too much the past few years.

I am on day 4 of no drinking alcohol and the last three dinner I have had were salmon and a variety of veggies (1 hour eating window per day). Last night I also had some sugar free greek yougurt and blueberries. And been doing easy cardio every day.

And let me tell you, I am feeling much much better and happier.

Also took my blood pressure and will check it like once a week now. I will have to keep with this to see it go down.

just avoid refined sugar. everything else is ok in moderation.

great chit bro. make it a life style. you will also look better over time.

the stress you put on your body by consuming alcohol and processed foods cooked in bad oil is literally like poisoning yourself. that's how some people look 50 when they 35. it's not rocket science.

i have the reflexes skills and height to play bball. i never enjoyed it. the only exciting part is the explosive first step... you make some explosive maneuver to the basket and the finish is a soft, finesse move. boinnggggg lob the ball up. it's such a let down.

in volleyball you do the explosive 2-3 step approach to a set and SMASHHHHHHhh the ball as hard as you can. BOOOOOM!!!!!! as it bounces off the floor. it feels amazingggggggg....

Totally feel you sir. Well explained. Feel like an alpha when I play v-ball too. I imagine itโ€™d be different if I could dunk, but Iโ€™m always a couple inches short.

dunking doesn't come often unless you're 6'8.

also dunking isn't as amazing as smashing a ball straight at your opponents.
