For me, the concern is regarding the amplification, suppression, and misinterpretation of information from both mainstream and alternative outlets.

For me, the concern is regarding the amplification, suppression, and misinterpretation of information from both mainstream and alternative outlets.
My underlying concern is that in publicly traded companies the CEO and Board Members are primarily responsible for oversight and direction to protect shareholder value.
In a time when news is struggling (and Pharma companies flush with cash are spending record numbers on advertising) there is a direct financial incentive to shareholders in providing positive editorial slants supporting the most profitable pharma windfall product in history.
Add in a Reuters CEO (now stepped down some months ago) who holds major shares in Thompson Reuters, as well as a current senior Board position and major share holdings at Pfizer, I think it is obvious this is a scenario that will produce editorial influence.

So when mainstream news organizations are overwhelmingly bias (which they very clearly are) and have conflicts of interest (pharmaceutical ad revenue) you got a problem.

Add the fact that competing news orgs (BBC, Reuters, AP, CBC) are now huddling together to make sure they all have the same messaging, and add the fact that Pharma is bucketing out huge advertising budgets to these orgs (with the obvious editorial pressure that brings) and it is the death of journalism.
Any story that doesn't match the board approved narrative is being pre-defined as misinformation, and anyone reporting differently is now subject to de-platforming and treated like some PatriotPress.org blogspam. Its a horrible place to put yourself.

I shared my concerned with how social media is used and essentially weaponized to divide people. But, I don't share Malone's concerns, specifically. Given what he presents and how he presents it, I don't see him as being "pro information".
But I come from a time before pre-prints and bar charts on Twitter were taken as scientific fact.

Pharma companies have taken tens of billions in criminal and regulatory penalties for false claims, kickbacks, shoddy research with fudged results, and just outright fraud in just the last couple decades. Now the general population is so desperate from the endless fear of the last 18mo that they have successfully whitewashed their reputation (with help of corporate media) as saviors.
Its gotten to the point we have their CEO's on twitter making recommendations on how often we need to take their products 'for our own safety', and anyone who objects or attempts to provide any information to the contrary is labeled 'misinformation' by social media's trusted fact checkers and is effectively muzzled. And we got there in 18 months, its an insane turnaround.
And it's not that I immediately think that pharma=bad and they are all liars, but the shutdown of discussion is telling. Truth holds up to scrutiny and debate, why do these companies need dissent to be shut down so hard? Its insane how complacent we've gotten. It's worse than complacent, the framing of this as a us/them issue has effectively turned half the country into propagandists in support of the narrative, because the 'other' side is obviously lying.

Fear the present - covid is dangerous, vaccines are harmless, so give up your freedom for safety.
Fear the future - covid is no big deal, vaccines are dangerous, so fight against pharma and the leftist/mainstream/consensus plot to steal your freedom through global communism.

I don't need to answer any of these criticisms, we have trusted fact checked news organizations showing us that if you are arguing for issue A you are in allegiance with issue B and C. This means we don't even need to listen to A, just punt that nutjob from the platform. Half of modern journalism seems to be smearing people with beliefs they don't hold so we can disregard them.
There is a push to assign everyone into one of two camps (no Australia), and the price you pay for stepping out of one of them is a good way to keep people from picking at inconvenient truths. Keep it up and we'll turn the mob against you.
When one of these sides has the worlds largest pharma and media corporations with trillions of dollars of market cap at stake, and the ability to shut down public discussion entirely things get really fukcy. I really dont like how fukcy things are getting, there is bad historical precedent.

I'm glad to see journal articles entering public awareness. Not many people paid anything prior to covid.
However, not only does public awareness shine a spotlight on science, which has some serious shortcomings, but it also highlights the importance of objective reporting. We're definitely not seeing objective reporting.

No, really. Why are they constantly trying to censor what the majority of people on this forum believe? We're not some fringe group of society. I talk to guys at work and in the gym and we're almost always on the same page. The only place where you see people like us outnumbered would be places like reddit and twitter. I am convinced a lot of reddit/twitter accounts are fake at this point.
All i've gotta say is stand strong in your beliefs, kings. Never bend and most importantly never let a woman come into your life and change the way you think. I have seen this happen to so many of my friends.

I haven't said anything about lockdowns. But, I agree there is a lot more going on. I just don't think it's exclusively Democrats or "the left" manipulating and pulling strings. I don't think the Republicans or the "the right" have individual citizens' best interests in mind, either.Which we know you want.

I find it intriguing how demands are used in Misc discussions.I disagree that there are no studies or pre-prints regarding vaccines and long covid.
I disagree that pepsid is the answer. I also disagree that he's not personally invested.
I disagree that vaccines are conclusively disrupting women's menstrual cycles.
I disagree that anyone who tests positive is being listed with covid as the primary cause of death - even if you restrict his claims to just the US.
I disagree that all hospital are lying to cash in. However, there are additional funds for covid deaths, for medicare-funded patients.
I disagree with how he presents the Maddie de Garay case - clearly sensationalizing.
His newly created term "Mass Formation Psychosis" sure is catching on though.

They're requiring jabs for people who literally just recovered from covid.
This PROVES that everything you see in MSM is sponsored by these companies, and they want more money.
Nobody i know under 60 got jabbed because of covid, they did it because of potential mandates. The US Marines lost more soldiers to the mandate than the entire military lost to covid deaths. If you still believe in the jabs, you're beyond NPC status; you're a deliberate traitor.

It's not Jenny McCarthy talking about 40 year old vaccine that can be tested for mercury content.
These absolutely qualified, Ivy League educated, seasoned and published doctors go against the news parrot narrative grain and it makes people uncomfortable in having to think and change their opinion.
Post any podcast where a doctor on the other side of this can fully articulate the same kinds of conversation, other than saying "there's no excuse, get the vaccine".
Thereareother options, in this and other countries, which are being suppressed for -whatever reason- (money).
