The Portuguese Police solved the case back in 2007. Sad the majority of Gonçalo Amaral interviews (even the recent ones) are not translated. So you gotta know Portuguese to understand.

I know the region myself (ive been there multiple times... July 2007 included ) and I know kidnapping was "common" back in the 2000s (Rui Pedro's case, for example) (because it is easy to escape to morocco). But i don't believe she was kidnapped (all the evidence point otherwise).


Why didn't the parents gave the girl's medical record to the Portuguese Police? ... Amaral (the responsible for the Portuguese investigation) believes it is because it would reveal some heart condition (common in patients with the "eye mark" she had). If she really had a heart condition, it would increase the probabilities of death caused by sleeping medicine, for example. Plus...the family gave "photoshoped" photos to the Police. Why?...Plus... the only "evidence" on the window was a "mark" that indicates that someone opened the window from the INSIDE. Not from the outside... Dogs smelled the blood in the apartment and in the car.... Parents NEVER cooperated with the police. (Why would someone keep their mouth shut and refuse to give information/details to the police if they wanted to find the kid as soon as possible?)

First thing her mother said to the Portuguese Cops was "They took her". Its is not an "usual" thing for the parents to say something like that. After that, they never cooperated with the police.

It took 40 mins for them to call the cops;
First words her mother said was "They took her";
There are NO fingerprints;
The only "mark" on the window in on the inside part of the glass (the window was found open AND the family said they left the window closed - they didn't even touched it, they say);
Doors and windows were not forced;
Kate (the mother) said she spent the rest of the night checking if the twins were breathing (why?);
Parents (and the other couples) used to give Calpol to the kids;
Twins didn't wake up (they slept through the entire night, even with the cops in the appartment, the dogs, the mother "crying" the lights on, etc etc.);
Parents refuse to give Madeleine's medical record;
Madeleine had Coloboma (usually associated with Heart problems);
Dogs detected blood and a "corpse smell" in the appartment.

That guy was found-he was legitimately carrying his own child.

Nothing remotely odd about saying “they’ve taken her” if your child is missing and you don’t know what happened.

The amount of scrutiny they’ve had, if they had anything to do with it one of them would have slipped up by now. Or more likely within the first couple of weeks.
