According to the bible, it's not going to be the same for everyone, how you spend life in heaven will be determined how you spend life here on this plane.

The reason people do not like the bible is because it is offensive and tells us that we are sinners. Men preferred darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.
Most of the people in this thread will be horrifically surprised to learn that they still have a conscious existence after physical death. And you will remember this post.
Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. There is no fear of God, so no reason to repent and believe the Gospel.

Yes. Delightfully worshipping God is man's final end, and it is never tiring or boring.
Marriage is a worldly bond; marriage ends when a spouse dies. There's no end or good to sex in heaven, so no.
All the good of Call of Duty is contained purely and essentially in the experience of the beatific vision, because God is all goodness.
Not sure if srs.
No. Because God is infinite and we are finite, each passing second (so to speak) in heaven becomes more delightful because our comprehension and appreciation of Him expands further, ad infinitum.
God bless (srs)

People do not like the Bible because it is a hypocritical work of fiction that is used to justify an unwarranted moral superiority complex, and there are significant attempts (a lot of successes) to try to incorporate it into society as much as they can with no consideration of anyone else's perspective.
You just keep lying to yourself though.

PS: Don't eat poop, just don't let the idea of it stop you from living life to its fullest.

you have to normalize your judgements against opportunity for fair comparisons. it looks like that's just human nature, but I'm not saying that's an excuse either.

Imagine if Job learned why his family had to die. "It was just a prank bro! Here, have some more kids, servants, and shiny baubles!"
"See Satan? I told you he was cool."
Doesn't take a bite from the fruit of the tree of good and evil to know that was fukked up.

God loves us and he wants us to be happy. We shouldn't be making choices out of fear, rather, a Christian should recognize that doing God's will is the way to maximize happiness.sincechristians needed their religion to even have basic morals taught to them via instilling fear (you'll go to hell)they will finally be happy that they reached that goal and can finally relax and live amoral

That's also why I can't understand Christians who think they can do whatever they want after they have been saved. You believe God loves you and wants the best for you, but at the same time you think you can find happiness in doing things contrary to his will?

Christian miscers—
Is there a denomination of Christianity that makes provisions for non believers who are generally good people in the afterlife? Or is it straight hellfire and sandpaper like sodomy for my friends?

pope says it doesn't matter what you believe as long as you're a good person

Two things I've found are true of every atheist:
1) they don't believe in God
2) they hate Him
If we want to believe in Santa Clause, why should it bother you?
The story of Job and Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac are historical parables - a parable is an earthly story with a spiritual meaning. It was pointing to Jesus' sinless nature and the suffering that He went through to demonstrate His love for mankind. Someone wrote earlier in this thread: "Jesus loves you" and that is true, but that love alone will not save you because He needs to know you.
I think what some of the people in this thread are not understanding is that in Heaven we will have spiritual bodies which are way more glorious. We'll be perfect because we will be like Him. There'll be no more sorrow, pain, or death. The creator of the universe is going to bring down a new Heaven and a new Earth where only righteousness dwells. If you don't know Him then you are cast out because you did not accept the sacrifice that God gave us with His Son.
He calls you 'friend' when He send you to Hell because He was a friend to you.

however, job was old testament.
But since the 10 commandments are so important in the old testament, I assume anything that so blatantly violates it is a metaphor.

Is everyone getting lit and praising God because they’re just so ****ing happy?
People cling to the promise of happiness in the next life if their good and follow the word of God because they can’t change their situation in this one.

Can you play Call of Duty all day or is that too violent?
This is why I think even the most devoted Christians don’t even believe in this sh!t and it may be on a subconscious level.
Even if Heaven had all this awesome sh!t like playing real life super Mario cart on rainbow colored loops or skydive without the fear of death, you’d get sick of it at some point. I don’t want to exist in an eternal state anyways. At some point haven’t you had enough?

Can you play Call of Duty all day or is that too violent?
This is why I think even the most devoted Christians don’t even believe in this sh!t and it may be on a subconscious level.
Even if Heaven had all this awesome sh!t like playing real life super Mario cart on rainbow colored loops or skydive without the fear of death, you’d get sick of it at some point. I don’t want to exist in an eternal state anyways. At some point haven’t you had enough?

As a Christian, I actually kinda wonder and tend to think why wouldn’t Heaven maybe be like the Garden of Eden?
We exist in Heaven as Adam and Eve existed in the Garden of Eden…. God was there with them and in Heaven, we will be with God so I mean…. I feel like it makes sense? Jesus walking and dwelling among us…. There would be animals, plants…. After all, they’re God’s creations too…. They were in the Garden of Eden

not religious but i just had a thought about heaven from another point of view.
if when you die, your "essence" or "soul" or w.e, which isnt comprised of any sort of matter in our universe, leaves for a place that is outside of our universe... then neither the soul or heaven are subject to any laws of physics which govern only our universe.
this place would be so incredibly different from what we can experience here in this universe that it would be impossible to even speculate on... its like trying to imagine what came before the big bang, but the concept of "before" wouldnt even exist because time started at the big bang.
it wouldnt even make sense really to call it a place, because a place means a point in space. space and time wouldnt even exist at all outside of our universe.
