"Because they can", "nothing is fair", "what do you expect", "it's politics", well yea, and this is Russia's "unfair" reaction to that. I would say the meddler, who was repeatedly warned, and is 5000 miles from home, is more to blame.

Cold War went on for 45 or so years, and it "ended" 30 or so years ago with the collapse of the USSR and the Warsaw Pact, we also have had some minor developments such as the EU - see the impetus for the Maidan protests after Yanukovich refused to sign the EU-Ukraine agreement and Putin's attempt at goading Ukraine into their own Eurasian thing - and whatnot in Europe. EU/NATO/Russia have all pushed to extend their influence, especially in the EE area. It's delusional to believe that either the US/West or the Russians would just drop the whole European geopolitics crap at a heartbeat just because Gorbachev said something about glasnost and perestroika after half a century's worth of mutual dikery and nuclear close calls.
Yes, Putin did repeatedly warn the West that there would be repercussions for meddling, too bad that he has been meddling as well since 1999 and he seems to get the short end of things.

Of course russia doesnt want ukraine to join nato.Russia wants to take over ukraine and control it. Putin is struggling for power and his vision of a new USSR...im sure he dreams of a USSR like the 80s but realizes he just has belaruse and that clown of a leader.

NATO is a club- not a right. If the member countries agreed to accept Ukraine into NATO then that would mean that the agree to go to war to protect Ukraine if Ukraine is attacked.
They are quite demonstrably not going to do this. The other members will not step up to save Ukraine. But there have been continuing efforts to put missiles close to Russia.

Russia is sitting on $640 Billion In Foreign Currency Reserves

Russia is a net exporter:

Russia is rich in tangible assets and carrying a relatively low debt burden. They have options:

BUT
- China has a clearing system that is an alternative to SWIFT called CIPS
- the US is still buying oil from Russia
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/202...-catsimatidis/
- Russia could trade internationally with gold, or really back their currency with ANY tangible commodity which could cause debt based currency to fall in relation to the rouble
- Russia could become more closely allied with China due to not being sanctioned there and the Russian banks using CIPS/not SWIFT and that could lead to other countries also doing their banking via CIPS to buy Russian oil and grain
Kicking Russia off of SWIFT may lead to a real dual financial system and be the end of the US$ as THE reserve currency.
If anything crashing the ruble against the US$ via sanctions, which is crushing some of the poorest people in the world by driving up commodity prices, could allow western oligarchs to snap up Russian assets at a big discount.- China has a clearing system that is an alternative to SWIFT called CIPS

And f*cking lol if you don't think said elite are well aware of both of these facts.
Greedy evil beasties on every side darling.
Putin's one saving grace is that I believe he is a nationalist, not a globalist. And that isn't because he is a good person, it's because he is a right bastard himself and does not want to concede control to a council of outsiders [globohomo one world fascist totalitarian oligarchy].

Russia being aggressive in defending itself is absolutely justified. They should have done it sooner.

Btw to the miscers that keep constantly regurgitating “nato promised not to expand bro!”
Ya that never happened. Since it’s inception, nato has always had an open door policy. ALWAYS. This even included Russia btw, they could have joined any time, and at one point Putin expressed interest in joining but didn’t want to go through an application process as all the “other countries that don’t matter” (his quote).
The thing people bring up about a promise nato made is in relation to meetings during the collapse of the USSR with Gorbachev and nato. Gorbachev though is on record with a Russian news network saying that talks about nato expansion were never had.
Furthermore, during the 90s Yeltsin made many attempts to get Clinton to agree to Nato adjusting their open door policy to exclude Eastern Europe and the balkans. Clinton basically told him to go fuk himself every time. All of this is on record.
I’ve posted the sources for all of this, real sources, no twitter no cnn no opinion pieces.. if anyone wants I can post again.

I might be falling for propaganda but I'm starting to mire Ukrainian resistance.
The Russian defense minister confirmed about 500 dead and 1500 wounded Russian soldiers.
Tons of Ukrainians sleeping in underground subways.
No fault of their own. One day they were chilling and next day they are getting shelled.

You're right, we have discussed this, and we're back because you won't answer simple questions + you contradicted yourself again. You claimed that Ukraine being a neutral buffer state is beneficial to both parties, but keep going off on paragraph-long irrelevant history lessons when I ask you to simply answer why the US was meddling in Ukrainian elections and supplying weapons.
Trying to compare the geopolitical influence that the US has to Russia is comical. "They both do it bro". Another disingenuous tactic to avoid having to admit that US meddling in Ukraine was completely ridiculous and reckless. They have zero reason to be there, other than to antagonize Russia, which as we both know, is exactly what they were doing. And now we have dead babies.

If this war has nothing to do with the US/NATO, what is it about?
There is zero chance that the Ukrainian people will live under the rule of Russia.
Do you think Putin doesn't know this? You think he wants to occupy Ukraine long-term to control its natty resources?
Does this seem realistic?
All the facts, logic, expert opinions point one direction, while several miscers, social media NPCs, and the scumbag MSM narrative are looking in the complete opposite direction. Why?

Seeing pictures of Ukrainian forces foolishly taking selfies in schools, not realizing that they just admitted to purposely gathering in schools hospitals and other places that they know Russians do not bomb unlike the Americans who level everything for 40 days straight lol
I kinda find it disappointing that some, not all, Ukrainians always hated Russians and screamed about how they’re going to ride tanks in Moscow and dance on Russians’ graves, pee in Putin’s skull and so on, and they were getting Nato supplies And training for years, but now that the Russians came over and said OK let’s have that war, the Ukrainians are acting like a little bitches, arming criminals, shooting each other and Jews in the street, hiding in schools, crying to nato for help, photoshopping old pics to make it look like they blew up a Russian tank etc.

They probably have memories of holodomor.
My only issue with you and other russiophobes has been that you think it was a completely unprovoked attack. We've been through this before where I firmly believe if NATO wasn't expansionist and if Zelensky stayed neutral, this wouldn't be happening

Putin thought Ukranians would welcome them and just surrender and hand it over, he was sadly mistaken. This shows his mind is obviously deteriorating.
So if this was about all about NATO, do tell why he didn't stick to HIS OWN script with the "special operation" and just take Eastern Ukraine eh? He obviously wants to bring back the USSR and most likely isn't just stopping at Ukraine. Poland is right there as well and already has the defense systems he was so scared about.

The 2014 interviews that you and a couple others have used go against the 1990s documents and also mean nothing because at that point there had been two color revolutions in Ukraine and Western narrative was to be followed so those interviews were little more the propaganda for justifying the color revolutions. The documents show a different story.Btw to the miscers that keep constantly regurgitating “nato promised not to expand bro!”
