Would you buy a domestic drift car?

If this was a production Daytona Coupe with an updated set of body panels and new interior, would you buy one?

Quick summary:
He mounted a 2017+ Mustang EcoBoost engine (crate motor) back farther in an old Notchback someone put an SN95 (94-04) dash into and used other parts he had to get the weight balanced and keep it at ~2500 pounds with him in it.

I am hoping if enough people build one of these using a kit, Ford will use the geometry as a starting point and put it into production as a sub 3000 pound stock car.

Depends, what's the retail on one of those?

I'd prob put the money towards a c4 or c5 for racing instead. But then....racing cars is a luxury hobby. I can't even afford to keep my DD in top shape.

I agree 100% (c5 because the c4 fuel system is trash)

The 2017+ Mustang weighs an extra 1,000 pounds.

I would price it to compete with the Miata and BR-z/86.

From what I know, they are working on better camshafts and a better transmission.

I would guess they could get it as low as $30k if they made the base model is all car and no luxury.

id leave the 5.0 in it though, that exhaust sound is kino

I was thinking a Daytona Coupe reboot with interchangeable drivetrain parts from the Mustang for cheaper production cost, like the 2.3L EcoBoost in an affordable model. 400 horsepower is a lot in a light car, and it's much safer in the rain than the V8.
