Geez, eod - what's wrong with that? NOTHING.
Didn't I even suggest this to you once, long ago? You are always dismissive of everything that anybody ever suggests to you. You may have the kind of persona that is skittish about trying new things (like you probably won't go out and try Fijian food tomorrow, even if you could) but, I mean it, won't you please just consider that what some of us suggest might actually have some merit and benefit? You are getting suggestions from people who, between us, have centuries of life experience.
And who, generally, care about you.
Meetup is wonderful! It has provided much enrichment to my overall Chicago experience. I've never managed to find a pinochle group, nor has any amount of searching on Yelp etc. helped me discover the [NON-EXISTENT] Hungarian restaurant in or near the city, but everything else I've wanted...IS THERE.
I mean it, eod. You always complain about the status quo, but you then steadfastly don't even consider other possibilities. Man, I hope I'm actually wrong about that.

There's a theory that Putin is taking corticosteroids as treatment for some disease which is altering his mental state, and the physical sign is his bloated face. I've been on corticosteroids for a short while before for an allergy and the side effects were insane. It gave me full-blown roid rage and also made my cheeks swollen and red. It would also explain why he's so paranoid about catching covid because corticosteroids weaken the immune system.

I'm 80% sure I'm getting back on parnate and I'm willing to do whatever it takes for me to turn my life around.. best drug I've ever taken in my life... anyone here on maoi?
2021 was the 2nd most confusing year of my life.. I was nearly killed by my own family and police a year ago and it's going to be hard to prove.
You guys don't know me, have never met me, so you might think I'm crazy. I have told the state police and the chief of police in the town where it almost happened. Still waiting for response back.. any law enforcement bros reading and can give advice??
I hope I get justice guys.. what happened to me was screwed up big time.

I spend a lot of my days being strong for others. I do my best to focus my energy on productive things, especially things that make the lives of my family and friends easier. Helping people move, fixing plumbing issues, installing lighting, covering for people at work, being a shoulder when others are suffering, and doing a lot of odd work to lessen peoples burdens. I make time for that. I also take time to paint, and try to express feelings in ways that are not destructive.
When I am not doing these things, I feel like I’m finally confronting what I really am. It’s like a vacuum, a dark hole. Pain comes in. I’ve physically injured myself in the past to distract myself from it, but I’m too damn old, and responsible for too much, to have people worry about me and idiotic things like self-inflicted injuries. Insomnia is constant, but I still need to perform. At work, and at home. Alcohol no longer dulls much it unless I’m drinking excessively.
By most measures, my life is good. I’m not crying for help here. It’s just the reality of how I am living. There are happy moments. I’m sure that others can relate, and I know that many people are going through worse things. I appreciate the time anyone took to read my deardiary.

I feel like if I wasn't working I'd be sleeping most of the day, and that's with my Dr. cutting back on my meds every month.
That's why I force myself to do social activities. There's a social event a tiki bar tonight and I don't want to go as I have a walk with my neighbor beforehand, but I know it will help my depression.

And since i never hear anything beyond office small talk i don't even know what to say to people. I have anxiety that people are going to judge me or i might offend someone. I've had experiences where people got offended by something i said and over time it's made me just not wanna talk anymore. That and the fact that it never goes beyond the awkward small talk that i'm not interested in and never goes anywhere.

I'm even going to therapy and all they do is tell me to go to meetup.com but nobody ever has an answer to how to socialize when you can't get any convos besides the typical netflix/football scores awkward small talk
Nothing ever goes beyond that. And i don't meet anyone i even relate to anyways. And the people i talk to don't really talk about much. I'm not going to meet people from the internet lol.
