I'll be doing a video this weekend comparing the FTW3 3090 Ti vs my Kingpin 3090. Curious if there's any appreciable difference.

So should I be undervolting my 3080 ti? I did a quick random check of my thermals using the steam overlay/msi afterburner i think, not sure ... and at loads, my gpu is around 78-79 ... I havnt seen it go above 80, but is there a point to me undervolting it?

I have a 850w gold 80+ psu as well.

No point in a 3090Ti when I have a 3090, not enough power over mine.

Will wait for the 4090.

Looks to be between 6.5-11% faster out of the box than my 3090 Kingpin (also at stock frequencies).

Yeah. The wattage is comparable and the performance increase is good enough to keep it. Will probably try selling the Kingpin and see if I can get enough to cover most of the 3090 Ti.

Most graphical games at 4K are going to punish anything below a 3090, especially with ray tracing. A 3070 is not a 4K card but it can do well with DLSS.

Geez, I paid $900 for my 3080.

I'd be tempted to upgrade but it runs CP in 4k at 60fps with RT. DLSS of course.

Looking into building my first pc ever.

I just have a laptop right now but it's getting older and need an upgrade.

My primary use is studying/general internet use - however, I do want to try out pc gaming. My extent of pc gaming is just childhood games like League, WoW, RS and CS which never required much.

My budget is around $1500 but I might save up more if needed - I'm also wondering how often do most people upgrade since it seems like every few months there's a new more powerful cpu or graphics card out?

I was browsing pcpartpicker and it seems like the I5 12400 cpu with either a 3060 or 6600 is what's in reach with a $1500 budget.

Would that be a decent rig that wouldn't require upgrading anytime soon or would it be something that needs to be updated within a year or so to keep up?

Would probably just be playing Apex since it's the only fps I play atm, but might download overwatch, COD, and some rpgs since I never got to play them with mods like fallout/skyrim etc.

Could be either.

I can space it out and go ahead and buy the keyboard, monitor and mouse and then wait until I get paid again.

Which is probably the best thing to do so I can get the best components.

I didn’t realize gaming monitors were as expensive as tvs lol.

Upgrade cycle is largely a user thing. I built mine 3 years ago.

Ryzen 3600 with a rx 590.

At the 2 year mark I upgraded to a 3070.

Now I will pick up a 5800x sometime right after the release of the new processors.

Your requirements aren't demanding so you can go cheap or go big all up to you.

If you didn't buy yet you get a pretty big upgrade in your price to performance as 6700 xts are now available at $530. If you sub to buildapcsales on reddit you can find 3060ti's for ~540 if you are fast.

I gave you both AMD and intel options.

It really do be like that.

I just ordered a lian li dynamic Evo and some other new parts. Corsair h150i with LCD screen, another set of corsair rgb fans, my build will have 9. Got some lian li strimer rgb power cables.

Should be a good time rebuilding, the nzxt case I have is ass, runs way too hot I usually have to leave the side panel off completely.

Why tf would you want a screen that big? Useless for gaming.

it's curved in such a way that it engulfs your entire fov and games are playable. ofc not good for competitive games as you may have to turn your head too much BUT it comes with a knob controller thingie that you just twist and adjust the screen size

Lol look at this fukker ^^^

Rebuilt my pc into a lian li 011 dynamic Evo. It's Def the most common ass build case but honestly for good reason, by far the best case I've built in.

Not everyone's taste but I love the rgb. Got 12 fans linked up with 3 on each side of the cpu cooler, which is mounted on the side drawing in cold air. Got the corsair LCD display h150i. Lian li strimer rgb cables. 7 inch screen mounted inside instead of the exhaust fan just running wallpaper engine. Don't really need the exhaust out thr back, it all flows up out the top.

Super pleased with the build, won't need to touch it for a while. Came out clean as fug.

Edit, not sure why my gif isn't working but here's a direct linkhttps://imgur.com/5flWItj

unless you're a professional sweat who needs a 24" 1080p 600hz monitor, larger monitors almost always provide better gaming experiences

the 55" monitor is literally the same as my current setup, I'll split the top into 2x 27" 16:9 monitors, and the bottom into a 49 32:9 monitor

32:9 is actually the GOAT for non-competitive shooters. you get so much increased FOV over your teammates

solid build! interested to see if you like the RGB a few months from now

I went with the same style case and all RGB corisair fans. 18 months later I think 3/9 of them have failed (colors fade the wrong way) and I just don't like the RGB anymore

will be using these aesthetic fans for my next build:
