If you had any doubt of what the U.S. is truly capable of and wondering if we could end the entire Russian government in 48 hours if we wanted to, now you know...

But how do you come up with a conclusion that US could wipe an entire Russian government in 48 hours and send a missile through Putin’s window without a reply? I don’t get it, are you stupid lol.
Do you think that Putin is just there by himself chilling with an Apple laptop, and if he dies, it’s the end lol?
But maybe you’re right, maybe a paranoid country that has been preparing for a nuclear conflict since the 50’s has no plan of response at all, maybe they’ve lost all the keys to the missiles, could be that.
Honestly, I’m not that smart but any means but some of the **** you people say is just pure retardation.

Cliffs: Russia's change of mission after losing the Battle of Kiev has not yielded any notable successes and is unlikely to do so any time soon. Weeks after turning Mariupol into rubble, Russian forces continue to grasp at eliminiating the last resistance.
https://www.understandingwar.org/bac...sessment-may-4
RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE CAMPAIGN ASSESSMENT, MAY 4
Ukrainian defenses have largely stalled Russian advances in Eastern Ukraine.Russian troops conducted a number of unsuccessful attacks in Eastern Ukraine on May 4 and were unable to make any confirmed advances. Russian forces attacking south of Izyum appear increasingly unlikely to successfully encircle Ukrainian forces in the Rubizhne area. Ukrainian forces have so far prevented Russian forces from merging their offensives to the southeast of Izyum and the west of Lyman, Slovyansk, and Kramatorsk, as Russian forces likely intended.
Russian forces reportedly entered the Azovstal Steel Plant – rather than its outskirts – for the first time on May 4. The extent of this Russian advance remains unclear, and Russian forces likely face further costly fighting if they intend to clear the entire facility. The Kremlin likely hopes that the successful capture of Azovstal through a ground assault will cement the Kremlin’s growing effort to claim complete control of Mariupol by May 9, with Russian propagandists recently arriving in the city to set conditions for further claims of a Russian victory. The Kremlin likely intends to claim some sort of victory in Mariupol to present a success to the Russian people, though Russian forces are highly unlikely to halt offensive operations across Ukraine on this date.
Russian forces intensified airstrikes against transportation infrastructure in Western Ukraine on May 4 but remain unable to interdict Western aid shipments to Ukraine. Six Russian cruise missiles hit electrical substations near railway stations in Lviv and Transcarpathia (the southwestern Oblast of Ukraine) on May 4.[1] A senior US defense official reported that Russian aircraft conducted 200 to 300 airstrikes largely targeting transportation infrastructure in the last 24 hours.[2] The US official added that these Russian strikes are likely intended disrupt Ukrainian transportation capabilities and slow down weapon re-supply efforts but have been unable to do so.[3]
Key Takeaways
- Russian forces engaged in several unsuccessful ground offensives to the south of Izyum and did not significantly advance efforts to encircle Ukrainian troops in the cauldron to the southeast of Izyum and west of the Donetsk-Luhansk frontline.
- Russian forces reportedly stormed the Azovstal Steel Plant on May 4 and are likely operating inside the plant’s facilities.
- Russian and Ukrainian sources confirmed that a Ukrainian counteroffensive pushed Russian troops back 40 kilometers from Kharkiv City.
- Russian forces conducted a number of unsuccessful counteroffensives on the southern axis.

As I alluded to in an earlier post, some officials have speculated that Russia will soon make this war official. Current efforts are not yielding the desired results and a declaration of war is required in order to legally conscript Russians and send them to war. This would of course be bad news for Ukraine since there would be extra Russians to throw at the war, not now but in 6 months time. It would be very bad news from the perspective of escalating the conflict globally and the attendant risks of nuclear warfare. Lastly it would be an admission that the "Special Operation" has failed and could well cause instability within Russian society.
Anyway Russia denies this, so we can stop worrying.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61321799
Russia has dismissed speculation that it will declare all-out war in Ukraine in the coming days as "nonsense".
Moscow has up until now denied it is at war, instead referring to the invasion as a "special military operation".
But Western officials have speculated that President Vladimir Putin could use the 9 May Victory Parade to announce an escalation of military action.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, however, said there was no truth to the rumours "at all".
UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said last week that the Moscow parade - commemorating the defeat of the Nazis and end of World War Two - might be used to drum up support for a mass mobilisation of troops and renewed push into Ukraine.
"I would not be surprised, and I don't have any information about this, that he is probably going to declare on this May Day that 'we are now at war with the world's Nazis and we need to mass mobilise the Russian people'," he told LBC radio.
Russian officials only refer to the invasion as a "special military operation" to "demilitarise" or "de-Nazify" the country, referencing a baseless claim about Nazis in the Ukrainian government which Moscow used to justify the invasion.
As well as the annual parade in Moscow, there are also long-standing reports that the Kremlin is planning some sort of additional parade in the city of Mariupol in southern Ukraine, almost all of which is now under Russian control. Ukrainian forces remain in one area of the city - a vast industrial steelworks called Azovstal.
Latest reports suggest that after the recent successful evacuation of some civilians, attacks on the steelworks have resumed and contact has been lost with the last remaining soldiers inside.
Ukrainian officials say the streets of the city centre are being cleared of debris, bodies, and unexploded bombs. Large parts of the city lie in ruins, after Russian forces bombarded it relentlessly for weeks under siege.
Ukrainian politician Alyona Shkrum told the BBC she was expecting things to become more difficult alongside Russia's victory day celebrations.
"For Putin and for the empire he's trying to build, basically this is a symbolic day, right?" she said.
"So he takes some kind of victory day and he turns it into a big fight right now against Nazis, which is obviously Russian propaganda and completely ridiculous.
"We are expecting that there will be quite tough times here in Kyiv and in Odesa and in Mariupol, and in other cities for 9 May."

I read that the European Commission is altering the requirements for the minimum allowable efficiency requirements for heating appliances which it claims would end the dependence on fossil fuel appliances. The heating sector is a huge part of the gas economy and buildings are the biggest gas consumers in Europe which nearly account for a majority, and gas boilers are the major appliance in homes.
Heat pumps are not gas dependent and function AFAIK like a reversible air conditioner, concentrating heat from outside and funnelling it into a building. Plus, they need a lot less electricity and it's very consistent with larger initiatives to phase out fossil fuel appliances within 4-5 years. The heat pumps are also drastically lower in terms of emissions so its a viable green energy initiative too, and it will also help households cope with rising energy prices.
Granted, it's a solution confined to Europe and not likely to be a silver bullet for such a complex scenario, but it's definitely something.

They are garbage and only work to a certain point, nothing will beat a gas fired boiler or furnace currently
I have 5 of them downstairs and I don't even touch them for heat, only AC. I'm also a HVAC Tradie..... I don't recommend them to anyone if they wanna use them as the sole provider of heat
They definitely don't use less electric either LMAO
Light Commerical side, roof tops are still king.
Phasing out gas appliances would also be impossible, gas stoves > electric not to mention it would be Impossible for restaurants lmao
