I would argue that the cop staying behind to tend to a fender bender versus chasing a man who some are arguing almost caused great bodily harm or death, would signify to me that the criminal's actions were not severe enough to warrant a chase.

So was the cop in enough danger to fire those 5 shots? If he was in such imminent danger, why did he let the scumbag continue on and let a minor accident let the whole situation crumble? Are cops in the business of letting people who almost killed them get away?

Okay, I'll bite

Sure, cop could miss and a stray bullet could strike an innocent person. He could refrain from shooting and the criminal goes on to kill other innocent people or criminals become emboldened and start getting worse, actually causing more innocent people to get killed. It's like the defund the police movement which actually caused more people to get shot and everything else.

Didn't watch. I am going to assume that he posed no reasonable threat to the officer and was more or less executed. That said, he was a catalytic converter thief, so it was a justified shooting yes
